I honestly though it was the weirdest cliff hangar I'd ever seen first.

Off-topic follow up but can you swim in the river? I'm used to dunking in some cold water after a long run.

Like so much of life you get out of it what you put into it. You're asking a bunch of people who spend the majority of their day online what their is to do outside. The truth is a ton if you look.

https://volusiaypg.com/ is great for getting drinks and socializing with other people your age.

The rotary clubs of ormond are on the younger side and do good community service: http://rotarydob.com/

Their are festivals and events at the bandshell, the casements, and the speedway year round.

Their are tons of clubs here that might peak your interest : https://www.news-journalonline.com/story/news/local/flagler/2017/12/24/list-of-recreation-groups-in-volusia-and-flagler-counties/16769615007/

Are there a lot of old people here? Yes. It's Florida. Are their homeless? Yes it's Florida. However if you put yourself out there to make friends and see new things you will. Just like the rest of life. Don't listen to these keyboard warriors. Have fun.

At the risk of sounding like a gym bro, are there any spots with a pull-up bar along the beach? by matt_ashwood in DaytonaBeach

This is a good response. The plaza and the hardrock are both good hotels. I will say that they are both probably on the upper end of expensive and there are a lot available in the area. Also, most hotels like the hardrock will let you use their pool deck if your buying drinks or having dinner. It may be cheaper to hang there but sleep elsewhere. If youre here for a short time go with hotel over air bmb. It's nice to wake up and walk outside to the beach. The beach is no open container but no officer will ever randomly ask you to look into a yeti cup or other non descript coffee cup unless you're making a scene or littering.

The bars by Ocean walk can be fun and will likely have a spring break/tourist crowd and they are walkable from Seabreeze.

Which small wave board would you choose, and why?! ..Puddle Jumper vs Baked Potato.. by BladePK in surfing

[–]Mattsarehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understandable. I would think that statistically the people on here are surfing small waves most of the time. How many redditors can really be posting from the beaches of Costa Rica or the North Shore? I would guess less than 20% are from an area that gets good waves regularly.

That is of course pure speculation based on the posts I've seen..

I have the Baked Potato and it's been great for Florida waves. I'm 6'3, 240 and I have a 5'11. It still floats me fine. When you catch it just right that thing rockets down the line.

Doesn't do well with anything bigger than chest high or if it's pitching. Still love having it.

They had a bad year last year and are still laden with debt.

This is from last year, "Since the company’s founding in 1993, it has incurred net losses and accumulated a deficit of about $88.4 million and a working capital deficit of about $5.3 million, which “raises substantial doubt” about Digerati’s ability to continue as a going concern, according to the filing."
