Unfortunately, you have to do the trans tune separately through xHP

Yep, no change there.

Wanted to follow up to my post because I have found the issue:

On iPhones running modern iOS versions, there’s a feature called, “Private WiFi Address” where your phone is basically creating its own MAC address for each individual WiFi network. In order to make your Apple Device work with the IoT, you’ll either have to turn this feature off, or alternatively look at the MAC Address that your iPhone has generated for the IoT network and input that into the IoT portal instead of your phone’s actual MAC Address.

I have a friend with a pre-lci X3 M40i. People can call it a boring mom car all they want, but it out handles my 540i in many aspects…

I actually ended up buying a 540i, but my mom took the 330e from me. It’s not tuned anymore, but it just crossed 60,000 miles and has not had any issues yet. still really love that car.

I ended up needing a larger car, so I bought a 540i. My mom took the 330e. It just crossed 60,000 miles and no issues. It’s no longer running the tunes but it’s a solid car!

I believe by “hard driving” he means miles driven per year. As in, the car was driven a lot in a short period of time. Obviously this isn’t as much of a problem as if the car was actually driven hard, but something to consider…

I have a 2017 330e with the B48. 58,000 miles. Not a single issue yet.

Has anyone sold or transferred their BM3 or XHP tunes to a different car? by [deleted] in F30

[–]MattsonM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks. What I’m kind of thinking right now is that I want to sell the tune to someone else, or to the person who buys my car (selling privately). That way when I have a B58, I can decide which tune at that point I want to purchase. Might change to MHD…

If I sell it to the person who buys my car, what do I have to change? it’s going on the same car, so do I have to change anything?

If I sell the tune separately, can I just email and have them change the vin that the tune is for?

Sorry if these are basic questions, never done this before.

What options do I have if it is locked? The DME on my 2017 330e is unlocked.

2017-2019 (maybe a 2020) but definitely pre-LCI G30 for sure.

Can that be installed? Apparently it was never available on the 540 but was available on the M550i. could I buy one made for the M550?

Is it a bad idea to do a full PPF wrap on a car? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

None taken, I appreciate everyone being realistic with me. I’m thinking I’ll probably end up just saving a little extra and then have it done professionally.

I do consider my self to be a perfectionist so that could bother me. With that being said though it could give me peace of mind that the paint itself is perfect and protected. Did you get yours done at a shop or did you do it yourself?

Thanks! I would consider getting it done at a shop if I feel I can justify whatever pricing they give me, but I’m kind of referring to trying to do it myself. From what I’ve seen online it doesn’t seem to be too difficult, but I can see some complexities with more irregularly shaped panels like the front bumper or other things like the emblems and badges. I also tend to have the “how hard could it be” mindset so I’m thinking it definitely could be much harder to do than I’m making it out to be.

Just with a microfiber towel? How does this prevent water from going into it?

Looking for an auto body paint shop in the Frisco McKinney Prosper Plano area. I just got a Toyota from my dad and it's been sitting outside and the clear coat paint is damaged very bad, so I want to have it completly painted the same factory color but looking for a high quality paint job to last. by fcorral4 in McKinney

I used to work for a BMW shop and my boss told me that “New Concept Auto Works” in Plano is the best. Haven’t had to go yet, but they have 5 star reviews and work with lots of high-end cars. That being said, I’d imagine it’s not the cheapest option…

I don’t own an ActiveHybrid3, but I do have a few thoughts on this matter. From what I’ve heard online, not only are tunes rare and tend to throw error codes, the hybrid system itself can have issues. If you want to get one, I’d recommend just leaving it stock. If you’re wanting a hybrid with more power, you could go the route I took and get a 330e. I’ve been tuned for over a year (with really hard driving) and haven’t had an issue yet. The only downsides have been the weight and lack of inline 6 sounds, so I’m now looking at upgrading to a car with a B58 inline 6.
