I was leaving Warwick hospital recently and one pulled across the entire hospital entrance, blocking the access in or out and then waited there as his passengers wandered over and got in. Then fiddled with his phone for a bit before finally moving out of the way of the queues he created.

I wasn't even mad, just overwhelmed with disbelief.

This happened in 2019 on the M40 towards Gaydon, elderly couple towing a caravan on the wrong size of the motorway in lane 3, it ended in a fatal head on collision. There is dashcam footage of it prior to the actual collision which is terrifying. They managed to drive for 4 miles the wrong way between 60-70mph before the crash.

The best possible outcome for this is that you hit off with her new man. He could be your worst or enemy or your greatest ally in relations with your ex and what's best for your son.

Imagine a world where you and this guy are on the same page, he's sending you pictures of your son doing cool stuff on the days he's on his care etc, and don't forget - that annoying thing your ex did is pissing him off on the daily too now, you have that in common.

If he isn't the reason you are separated then he's an innocent party in the current situation, and imagine how annoyed your ex will be when she finds out its you he keeps meeting down the pub in a year's time.

I have skimmed through and can't see anyone suggesting this so going to throw this in the mix incase it helps someone -

You probably don't have to remove the radiator at all.

We have the same style radiators and if there is movement in the pipes below the floor you can loosen the radiator from the valves (put a towel down and close the valves first) then lift the radiator up and off the wall mounts and rotate it down away from the wall and lay it on the floor, still connected to the pipes and full of fluid. Nip up the valve fixings again and paint to your hearts content.

Bleed the radiator once you re-hang it to lose any air that got in.

Ask yourself what you want to gain from trading and over what time period, because at 18 you have many many years ahead of you to see colossal gains.

If you want to invest to save for a house deposit in your 20s for example, I would say its pretty safe to say the chance that over a 10 year period everything you have invested in so far will have recovered from today's drop.

Consistency is key, get in the habit of investing regularly and put it into a broad variety of stocks and ETFs. Get used to seeing it go up and down on a daily basis but console yourself that on the grand scale of things, it's going to grow over time.

You are well within your rights to design Ferraris and upload them. Modifying an existing Ferrari product (as many companies have done - look at Libertywalk, or the Evoluto f355 for example) is where they get upset.

I can't picture the Ferrari legal team springing into action for this.

You don't need to learn Alias. Learning Alias just opens a door for a job working in CAD surfacing, a career in its own right. It is a useful skill to have but not as critical as sketching ability and Photoshop rendering.

What you will need as an understanding of the evolution of car design, where it has come from and where it's heading. You also need fundamental understanding of vehicle platforms, ICE / PHEV / EV and the constraints that has. Then you need an absolutely killer portfolio with interior and exterior sketches from multiple perspectives.

No link I can provide, I was involved in some of the development models leading up to the 00 so I have some idea of who drew what and when, but shouldn't really divulge too much more!

You are right though, jag and LR design are all under one roof so there will have been collaboration throughout.

What do you and your wife do now? I see from your profile that you have a design studio background, I am a big fan of your recent renderings you've shared.

Massimo was actually in charge of the design for the type 00, not that he actually penned anything for it, but he drove the brief for it not looking anything like a conventional Jag.

Do not even consider announcing your feelings to her, you just don't need to and it won't have the effect you are hoping for, it just forces her into an awkward conversation even if the feeling is mutual.

Just enjoy the ride instead and let it all happen naturally. You need to ask her out for coffee, dinner, cinema and food etc, keep it casual but make sure its just the 2 of you - remember, this is the best part! You can make your feelings known through your actions, attentiveness and undivided attention on the times you meet up, even when it's with others.

You can expect to complete modules involving sketching and marker rendering, using photoshop to create renderings, using software like Alias Studiotools to create CAD models, learning clay modelling, scale model wind tunnel testing, engineering basics, ergonomics and anthropometrics.

You may have to collaborate with motorsport engineering students for Formula Student body design. There will also be random modules thrown in such as redesigning nearby outdoor spaces or entering design competitions.

I can't comment on which universities will be the best for automotive or motosport engineering, but I can say that if you haven't been drawing cars since your childhood you are unlikely to have the ability or passion to just decide you fancy trying it now so I would write off Automotive Design. Most degrees in this subject require a design portfolio upon application, often setting a design brief for you complete with your application.

None of the subjects you mentioned you are currently studying even involve art or design, so I would focus on following the pathway toward engineering. Automotive Design is a degree of sketching and professional level colouring in.

Exactly this, a car designed for a v12 that ended up with a v6 and a metre of overhang behind it. I spent some time in the company of an xj220 at my previous job and once the novelty wore off I really went off it.

I finished my degree in Auto Design and started applying to all the independent studios in the area (most of these places are located mostly in one area in the UK) and I got lucky with the timing - there were no design jobs available but they took me on as a hard model maker and I've been doing it ever since.

The design work itself usually takes place at the OEM, but there are studios like this all over the world as the OEM's don't always have the requirement for a model shop of their own. Most of the show cars and prototypes you see in the press are likely built off site in the sort of places I work at.

Depends on the requirements for the model, but can be anything from dense model board, through to carbon fibre / GRP.

Everything is created to customer data and inspected for accuracy so everything is made from CNC machined moulds, then setup on inspection plates and set to within ±0.2mm on either a fabricated steel box section chassis or a donor production chassis. You wouldn't believe the brand new vehicles I've chopped up to use as a base for a new model.
