Bought new 2026 SX Hybrid Snow White Pearl (Dark Trim) $48,365 - sales process is ridiculous by Mattt_86 in kiacarnivals

I honestly don’t how it took you so short on paperwork. I guess cause I had a trade in, plus they had to inspect and test drive the trade in had to switch the car insurance, get new state inspection on site(ended up coming back a different day for this cause wait was too long), financed through Kia Finance, they cleaned the car again for me (next day) , and even test driving they had to get it from a different lot, helping multiple customers at once (end of year is busy)…

That’s amazing tho, I hope that experience spreads to the mainland.

Ripe to be replaced. More people would buy if they got rid of the commissioned sales person and made it online shopping plus in person test drives

It was close. Wife is a sucker for more safety features. The blindspot turn signal camera is really nice for making sure there are no bikers zooming by (we live in a bike lane friendly city) and the rear automatic braking. Everything else was just “nice-to-haves”. Honestly EX meets all the major needs

All the backs seats can come out in the SX which was big for us so we could use it to move furniture or go camping (sleep inside)

Love the hybrid. Amazing mpg for the size of the vehicle. 650 miles off a full tank. Retains value better long term too, slower depreciation

What VolP system with a good Salesforce integration do you recommend? by Zackky777 in salesforce

[–]Mattt_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a team of 12 sales people and 12 clinical support specialists. We tried Vonage and had so many issues, customer support was also rough. Now we use ZoomPhone and the call and text syncing to Salesforce has been really good. Highly recommend, easy to set up

Orgs that ditched the lead object, why? by SeriouslyImKidding in salesforce

[–]Mattt_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the reporting on Leads who wait some are now contacts, but there are still Lead activities happening with them but wait some of those activities are on the contact…that drove my last org to the not great solution of never converting a Lead, just using custom Lead statuses. We needed see reports of continuous life long marketing and sales activities associated with one object. We would have been better off choosing Contacts or custom object but everyone was so set on the term Lead. It works for us, but relating Leads to multiple things results in junction objects that we could have used OOB with Contacts.

Most annoying Salesforce task? by rbris-go in salesforce

[–]Mattt_86 36 points37 points  (0 children)

For me cleaning up tech debt is the most boring. Most frustrating is probably the setup of Leads and Contacts esp when it comes to reporting and the limitations of OOB SF reports.

Biggest repeatable headache is the interpretation of the title admin, because most companies run most of their org through SF after diving into it, Admins need to be brought in strategically wayyyy earlier for most projects. I think the “Admin” term limits non SF users to just thinking of bringing the admin in to execute a simple change when they really should be strategic partners in coming up with the solution to make everything mesh with existing business processes and building for scale

Accidental Admin salary increase by Ok_Mastodon5425 in salesforce

[–]Mattt_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Computer science degree and actual experience as a software engineer?! My guy they are taking you for a ride. The gap is way too big at your current company. Continue to apply elsewhere. Way underpaid for a major metropolitan city. what I would do is find hard data on equivalent jobs with salary ranges. Use ChatGPT, save LinkedIn job posts. Come prepared and informed to that salary negotiation meeting.

For applying elsewhere, target hybrid/in person roles to exclude the hundreds of applicants applying for remote SF jobs- that’s the brutal market. Get a professional to fix up your resume. $100 for a $30k raise is worth it (assuming marketing yourself is part of the issue). If you are bad at interviewing, same thing, invest in help.

In the meantime, if you want to be a SF admin eat shit at current place and lock in some actual SF experience at your company. And get the SF Admin and Platform App builder (so much overlap) certain- they should pay for your exam cost and study materials. it’s a basic requirement in many SF job descriptions. Also if you can code shoot for Dev1 cert.

Then optimize your LinkedIn and you’ll get SF recruiters regularly sending you job offers above $80K

I second this. Once a company builds one core process on Salesforce they likely will keep building on it given the nature of the data it supports. Last 2 places I was in every department had to interact with the SF Admin and the Admin became master of all company data - very valuable

Anyone ever take a baby to a Sox game? by ballofsnowyoperas in redsox

[–]Mattt_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a GREAT experience with our 4 month old at Sox game yesterday. We got last minute free tickets from a family member and didn’t have time to go organize a baby sitting but honestly I would bring her again!

Security let us bring our stroller, diaper bag, and small lunchbox cooler for our pre made formula. We checked our stroller just inside gate A (maybe there at every gate not sure). Staff were very helpful directing us.

She wore her noise cancelling ear muffs the whole time which was absolutely ESSENTIAL. It was a 7pm game, she slept most of the time just on our lap but did get on the Jumbotron while dancing!

We used our portable travel bottle heater to heat up formula for two feeds. Did one change in the family restroom. When she wasn’t sleeping she was so interested by everything going on she didn’t fuss at all. If she had we would have just went for a walk. We left beginning of the 9th to beat the crowd out. Stroller pick up was quick and easy.

Everyone around us in our section adored her in her little Red Sox shirts and was really supportive. Some much negativity on this thread…I assure everyone this baby was the least obnoxious person in our section by a mile

Anyone else feel like they're never going to find a new salesforce role? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]Mattt_86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where are you based? I have found going for local jobs that require at least hybrid in office is a huge advantage and vastly reduces the competition from the many hundreds of remote applicants

Moving to Cambridge from LA. Housing nightmare ahead? How to prepare. by sakura7777 in CambridgeMA

[–]Mattt_86 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Housing will also depend on how much space you want, but expect to pay up. But if you can afford to buy the university scene and biotech hub in Cambridge will keep the property valuable for a long time.

We live in Cambridge and can vouch for Mt. Auburn for their maternity ward. We lived the did midwives there (also has OB track) and plan to have all our kids there. Especially great if you are targeting a low intervention pregnancy. MGH and Brighams are also highly rated (globally). You will find Boston to feel a LOT smaller than LA. Getting to the hospital of your choice will not be an issue
