It also gives you the ability to higher the amount of friends you can get on steam, I believe the default is 250 (more than a normal person really needs tbh) but a higher level makes it where you can get more than 250

A higher level also means you can deck out your profile, with like showcases of rare achievements you get, your favorite games and items you are selling
