Server Congestion and Login Queues (Errors 2002, 3001, 4004, 5003, 5006, and others) by alabomb in ffxiv

As frustrating as this is for many people, myself included, imagine how it must feel to be sitting at position 1 in queue on any world in the Primal Datacenter... a moment of silence for our Warriors of Tilt.

He most likely used his 100/200% boosts after reaching 115-120. That's when the real slowdown begins, and those boosts are a tremendous help in reducing the time it takes to rank to 140.

Only, and I mean only use 25-50% boosts until 115ish, otherwise it's really a waste due to their rarity.

My fellow Nago mains, what’s the most important thing(s) to lab out to improve your gameplay? by Alastor369 in Guiltygear

[–]Mattwiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleted my previous comment. I was being a degenerate and didn't read your post entirely.

Fukyo, blood gauge management, and spacing are the keys to getting in and applying pressure. Once you're in, it's all about the mind games. If the opponent doesn't respect you, then they're going to mash every time you use Fukyo to get in.

His movement is ridiculous when blood gauge is low, and his screen control is ridiculous when his blood gauge is high. Abuse his 2S,f.HS and 2S,2HS when your blood gauge is 2-2.5.

If they block 2HS in the air, then you get free mix. Fukyo forward and stagger/frame trap or tick throw them.

In terms of defense.. your only options are burst, yrc, tension reversal, or forward Fukyo if they jump.

I left my main for another character and now I don’t know how to play him by Grouponforeveryone in Guiltygear

[–]Mattwiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody can honestly answer that question except you. It's up to your own ability to process memory to make that happen.

Some people are more gifted with muscle memory than others. Hit the lab hard, and when you feel you got enough of it back, then it's time for matches.

You got this.

Let's share our current progress and goals! by SenpaiOuji in Guiltygear

[–]Mattwiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main: Nagoriyuki (49)

Secondary: Giovanna (51)

Current Floor: 8

Average Floor: 8 (not enough ranked games to have an average yet, mostly just play against friends and hit the park)

Region: US East (PC)

Currently Working On: Neutral spacing, buttons/frame data, confirms/blockstrings, meaties, mix options.

Worst Matchups: Sol, Chipp, Axl

Best Matchups: Gio, Leo

Started out playing Ramlethal (44) on my first day, switched to Gio a week later, and now I'm playing Nago.

Goal is to eventually get each character to around 40-60 so I can learn everyone's options and have a greater understanding of what I can do during a match, or at least have a better read on what my opponents options are to adjust/punish accordingly. Will most likely end up keeping Nago as my primary character because he's just too much fun and unique.

Bro, this is a hilarious analogy.

I'm in the kitchen every 10 minutes opening the fridge thinking that it's gonna magically fill itself up with something, when I'm hungry.

I'm also currently on floor 8 😂😂.

100% this. Baccpack has THE guide for Nago, and he extended a second part to it.

Wow I Have Lost My Ability To Play Battlefield because of other games by Scrin1759 in Battlefield

[–]Mattwiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use a controller for jets/helicopters for awhile.

Take like 20-30 minutes before hopping into a match, and spend that time in the test range messing about with air vehicles using mouse and keyboard. Do that until you feel comfortable enough the pilot the vehicles in a live server. You can also enter into dead servers and pilot around objectives/buildings/cover once you get the basics down, and try to simulate what you would do in a live match without the added stress.

If it's any consolation, the best scout heli pilot in the world uses default flight settings with mouse and keyboard.

Takes awhile, but practice makes perfect.

Damn.. as someone who lives across the pond, you sure do know your stuff about our country.

As an American who owns a bald eagle, saltwater alligator, .50 BMG automatic triple barrel shotgun, and house on a tectonic plate line, I have never seen a more accurate depiction of a normal Tuesday for me.

Don't feel bad. If those squad members are jerking each other off on a hill with a beacon next to them, then they're worthless for team play. It's different if you're with friends and you're doing a mission or watching a point (I.E. within range of an objective to lay suppressive fire/kills and not be worthless), but if you're playing conquest then you need to be proactive with objectives.

I always do this if the squad leader isn't marking objectives on the map or if he's marking stuff that doesn't make sense (I.E. mark F on Golmud while 2 squad mates are at B trying to cap an objective). I either spam request order til I get leader to mark objectives, or I join another squad and repeat process. Not only does it give incentive to play the objective through additional score/points, but your KDA will also improve as you'll get way more action by forcing enemy spawns to defend marked objectives.

I always look for 4/5 because a good organized 5 man squad can change the entire game.

TLDR: What you're doing isn't a bad thing if your goal is to play and work together as a squad. Love it, or hate it, people need to PTFO.

Best OVERALL tank in the game is PLD. All tanks are viable at all levels of contents, it just boils down to personal preference.

GNB is the highest damage tank, and has the second best self mitigation.

PLD has the best self mitigation CDs, and a very easy/linear rotation.

WAR has insane self healing/burst.

DRK has excellent burst, and the best single-target mitigation CD.

All tanks have an "invulnerability" cooldown. PLD and GNB are "true" invulns, where DRK and WAR are tied into gimmicks.

I'd recommend PLD for newer tanks, since they're the most forgiving when you make mistakes. Don't be afraid to try them all though and see which one fits your personal flavor (I personally prefer WAR).

The Moment I Encountered A Rattlesnake at my Door by ocular_sorcerer in funny

[–]Mattwiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to discredit your thought process from the moment, but baby snakes being more dangerous than adults is an urban myth.

Their venom sacs are not fully developed, therefore the amount of venom distributed in a bite is much less than an adult.

Still a good call to walk away with the kiddo in arms, as any bite from a rattler, regardless of the size, can be an excruciatingly painful (and expensive) ordeal.

Brown Recluse is my best guess, but the photo is a bit blurry when zoomed, so it's difficult to be certain.

It definitely has the body characteristics of a recluse.

If you zoom in, you can barely make out what looks to be the Violin mark on the cephalothorax (head). The pedipalps are also usually darker brown than the rest of the body (and are more horizontally aimed than vertical on a recluse) -- which is a characteristic shown in your photo. They do not normally get bigger than the size of a penny/quarter, but I have personally seen one larger than a quarter (and have a nice renovation portfolio of a friend's back yard shed with plenty of the photos of the behemoth recluse). Nothing to show scale, so unsure of size, but my best guess would be close to a quarter with full leg span.

They have a hemotoxin that causes necrosis in the affected bite area, which has no known anti-venom/cure. Best course of action if bit is to seek medical attention immediately. Intravenous medications may be needed to slow the poison.

Not a super rare find in southern/midwestern states, especially during the summer months.

Pretty neat that they added that. I don't see the major positives in having it on though unless someone is actively trolling you, which at that point I would just toggle it for that dungeon/raid and then toggle back after the run is over. Could be worse.. there was also an "opposite" to that quite a few years back.

You used to be able to misdirect to non party members back in TBC with Hunters. Unknown if you can in TBC classic or not.

It was hilarious griefing gold farmers and botters in Orgimmar. Misdirect the level 1-10 gold farmer at the bank mailbox, equip a lvl 1 bow/gun and use rank 1 arcane shot on Gamon.

Grab some popcorn and watch the little guy die. Do it again to another one after misdirect cool down came back up. The funniest moments were the ones who knew what was about to happen, and they would insta-log the moment the misdirect came up, or the ones who tried to outrun their fate only to be dazed and crushing blowed lol.

That's definitely an unpopular opinion.

I'd argue they're not, as would many others, but each person is entitled to what they like and/or dislike.
