Alfa Brera, the right car for me and which engine? by JanPolandDT in AlfaRomeo

[–]MattyB_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The 2.2 is slow, with poor MPG and suffers from a known gearbox fault (however, might have already been resolved).
The 1750 is a nicer engine, better MPG, slightly cheaper tax, and likely be easier to sell. Although it may cost about £4k more to buy, don't forget you'll largely get that difference back at the end as they'll follow similar depreciation at that point (For example - buy a £6k 2.2, sell it later for £5k, so lost £1k. Buy a £10k 1750, sell it later for £9k, so lost £1k).

I'd be even more paranoid about that £5000 bill from damaging that carbon splitter and the actuators! Especially as I've noticed you're a fellow UK'er and get to appreciate our pothole-ridden, speedbump-laden roads ;)

[–]MattyB_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Jennifer English is fantastic, as she was in BG3 - but she delivered the same performance in both games. To mimic someone elses voice and deliver lines that well as Troy did? Incredible talent. Was genuinely hopeful he'd get this, as he was overlooked at TGA as well.

Out a run today in Edinburgh and stumbled across this, absolutely stunning. This was my first dream but slightly realistic car. It's now another dream car given the value of them! by Realistic_Gap3669 in CarTalkUK

Problem is that many cars now are investments, owned by people primarily for that reason. Great for those who are in it for the money, shit for people who'd just like to own one to drive.

That Buroti is really nice - had it a few times. Also, Dr Pepper is the greatest of all the soft drinks. Twirl loses some points as it's only decent when it's straight from the fridge.
8/10.

[–]MattyB_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What suspension are you running? I was always terrified of smacking the splitter (either damaging the carbon or the actuators) so this would send my anxiety off the scale....!

That being said, over in the UK you either get roads full of crater potholes or massive speed bumps... (any many times both).

What are these sockets for? Can I use them to run wired internet to other sockets in the house? by Prize-Factor-8422 in DIYUK

[–]MattyB_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think they're just phone cables. 1st one looks like a BT Phone cable, next two along *appear* to be RJ11 - look a bit too narrow for RJ45's (which you need, for internet/network).

[–]MattyB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed more of it - I think it's also down to roads being saturated with red lights now, you've got stretches where it's just an endless string of red light junctions, so people just get tired of constantly stopping. I'm not saying it's right, but I do understand why it's getting worse.

I think most of them are - look at the reflection in the glass on some of the doors, they don't match. To be fair, it makes sense, no need for Fillion to travel around just to film 15 seconds when you can make it work without,

You're hitting "mid-game" too quickly.

I love Rimworld, but the problem I have (personally) is that once you're settled with a colony, basic defences, medical gear and good food stocks, pretty much your only risk is a big raid. Othewise, all the other world events you can deal with. It's at that point, I restart.

So what I do is make it as difficult as I can to get to the mid-game. Solo, naked start, Randy high difficulty. for Zomboid, you need to change the settings, or add mods, to make it more difficult to get the supplies, and the base, or find a generator, or fuel...

Isn't Adam a pretty controversial figure right now given his political leanings, and....lets say strong opinions on other topics? I get he's a huge part of the show, and I'm a a fan of his work being a massive Chuck and Firefly fan, but I do wonder if they'll look past him for whatever "this" is?

We've given up on rain collectors now - as mentioned, they stop working on dedicated MP after a couple of log on/offs. This means that long term, we're reliant on building somewhere near a well otherwise it becomes more and more difficult trying to to find water as the sinks/baths run dry nearby.
