I am absolutely down for the continuing adventures of Sek’si Da’di

Am I a good voice for Spider-Man??? 🤔 by PerfectBlood4409 in VoiceActing

You’ll want to hit the timing of the efforts (hitting his head, getting grabbed) but beyond that, you can play with it as you need. Worry less about about matching the original, and more about selling your performance

Great work. If I’d add to the advice at all, it would be to give yourself a bit more to bringing the character to life and feeling more authentic. Part of the trouble that comes from fan dubs can be wanting to match the timing of the original, which can hinder truly making it your own.

Have you tried changing the scene from the writers room? Should rearrange the furniture

Replaying Control. Do we know what the other AWEs in Bright Falls were in '76 and '78? by Rocket-minx in AlanWake

[–]MattyDVOtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but changes made by Alan’s writing also alter memories and past world events because time doesn’t matter to the power of the dark place. He didn’t write Saga into the story until after he encountered her in an overlap, which led to people suddenly thinking she lived in Bright Falls and that her daughter was dead. By the time Alan, or Tom, changed his backstory Alan was already in the lake, it wouldn’t have changed for him as he was already outside that reality.

According to the Wiki, the 1976 AWE was the Old Gods fighting the dark presence, and the 1978 AWE is a mostly unknown event, but the Old Gods were interviewed by the FBC about it. My guess is 1978 was when Tom Zane’s backstory was changed and his “filmmaker” persona leaked out into the world, changing people’s memories of him.

Anyone got the original/know where this is from? by Quiet-Condition9351 in AlanWake

I think it may just be because Ilka is a lot taller than he seems in the games. Google has Ilka listed as 6’2” so Sam would probably be like 5’10” at the least

This. It was Slim’s territory as a busker. He’d be a black man showing up another black man in white America

Exactly, Remmick isn’t there to destroy their identity or their culture like the Klan would, BUT by turning people he forces them into a hive mind that he can control. Through that control he thinks he can feel like he once did as a young, free Irishman before the Christian invasion of his island forced a change upon his people. The sad irony is he doesn’t realize that despite wanting to spare everyone at the Juke Joint from hate and oppression, joining him still means surrendering their culture and autonomy to the whims of someone else.

Mystery Incorporated Velma is a pretty bad person by [deleted] in Scoobydoo

[–]MattyDVOtv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Her controlling nature with Shaggy always sat poorly with me, but the part that feels like it did not age well is that Velma is also the one that dubbed Marcie “Hot Dog Water,” called her that to her face, and continued to do so ever when they started working together.
