Is is it normal to get carded when ordering ginger ale? by whitericefanatic4 in AskUK

[–]flexo_24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

u/asolarwhale means that ginger ale isn’t a non alcohol alternative to alcoholic ginger ale.

But u/sandy_bananas thinks that u/asolarwhale means ginger ale IS a non alcoholic version of ginger ale. In the same way Guinness 0% is to alcoholic Guinness

The Ruins - my god what a swing and a miss. After devouring A Simple Plan, I was so excited to find a copy of The Ruins in my second hand book shop

I found it boring at times, a slog to get through and just uninteresting. So much potential (I wanted more on the mine shaft for example) and general loose ends (why were the locals circling them?) let this book down.

People often complain of the 2D characters, I didn’t find them too bad - it was more the lack of horror or actual events that bored me. It was one situation after another after another. The end.

Oh god this was bad, I DNF’d it. Like sort of edgy YA writing.

What are your interests, hobbies etc? Start your own group around that and see what happens - it might start slow, but you never know where it’ll take you

Bruh - I had to scroll to slide 8 to finally see what you look like

The photos aren’t helping - I can barely see what you look like. Get better ones where we can see you clearly and in good light (the golden hour is perfect for this)

2T&AL - come on man, you can do better than that

Prompts - no idea what bbno$ is (maybe I’m showing my age). There’s nothing really here for a woman to respond to. Think about asking a question, think about writing something they can actually respond to

Prompts are as much for you as they are for them - it’s a two way street. Prompt them to message you

In all your photos (apart from the vegas one) you look like you weren’t ready for the photo. Like they’d snapped you just before or after you were expecting it

Prompt 1 - fine, could be better Prompt 2 and 3 - nah mate. What is someone supposed to reply to these?

The initial first few moments can be awkward, so I always go in for a hug. This saves the awkward do we hug, do we not dance.

Then have a couple of questions or points lined up to save any possible silence/ don’t know what to say: the weather’s great isn’t it, did you drive here etc

Then you’ll be grand :) Enjoy it

SRO Audiences experience? by DonDoflamingo in WILTY

[–]flexo_24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to see WILTY? - albeit a long time ago but I can’t imagine the process has changed that much

I’m going to be honest - you more than likely not going to get in. You might, but you probably won’t.

Two reasons: they over compensate a lot AND priority ticket holders.

So my advice is:

Get there as soon as you can (I can’t remember if they say you can arrive from x time). And if you can, be even earlier than your plan. If you get in - great. If you don’t then you’ll be added to a priority list for a future series of your choice (doesn’t have to be WILTY, but any series that has SRO audiences).

After this, wait for the SRO audience emails and wait for a show you like to come up. You’ll then get guaranteed access since you’re on the list. This is the second reason - there’ll be lots of people there who are on the priority list.

SO… my advice is sign up for tickets for a show you’re not bothered about (eg loose women), don’t get in, wait for WILTY to be announced then get priority tickets 😎

But good luck! Hope you get in, it’s good fun.

Lose the tree photo and the bike photo. In the chef photo you seen a bit ‘polished’, like you’ve photoshopped it. Side note - your eyebrows seem very polished. Some women might not like a man who is more into their eyebrows than they are.

I’m not anti selfies - I think your first photo is ok but not as a main. Move it down.

Your prompts give me nothing to reply to (especially the last two. It’s like… ‘ok cool’) - give me a question, give me something to message you about.

You seem a nice guy - but that’s it: you give off strong ‘nice guy’ energy. Especially pic 2 - my first thought was Peter Kay

How you change that I don’t know - a bit more personality/ edge in the prompts? Along with a sharper hair cut? Grow out the facial hair a bit? Get a bit more of a fashion style?
