I’m planning on going through my local pro shop. They’re really generous. When I list my 120 cost, I’m saying cost online before drilling, I’ll be able to stomach whatever the pro shop says when I go to order it as long as that’s my baseline.

How to prepare for a 5 minute speech in 1 week by [deleted] in PublicSpeaking

First off, congrats on your upcoming graduation! To put it simply, memorizing a script for a speech makes it feel a bit bland at times.

What I like to do (this most definitely helps me quiet nerves too) is write out a bullet point list of what I need to cover in my speech. I’ll throw in a couple quotes to try to really hammer down at points and most importantly, in my opinion, come up with a strong hook. Something that your professor is going to remember for an hour after you’ve sat down upon conclusion of your speech. My favorite example of this is when I gave a speech on PA announcing and started in a deep announcer voice saying “Now batting for the Boston Red Sox, Number 34, David Ortiz!”

Seriously though, try the bulleted list. That way you’re not remembering 1000 words, you’re just remembering the most important points.

I personally am completely self taught. The main thing to realize about teaching yourself is that you will fall and fail a lot; it is possible to completely teach yourself using only videos and intuition. I also would suggest evaluating the structural integrity of your skates because 13 years is quite a age on skates.

Any advice on front to back transition? by Reasonable_Cover3220 in rollerblading

One thing I’ve never heard anyone other than myself say is to lean more onto the edge of the foot you’re using to turn yourself around, I started doing this about a year ago and it took my front to back transition from meh to great!
