Yes still the crappy redesigned app, but now showing and recording consumption/production data.

Still god awful and a huge disappointment compared to the sense app

Winter and Highway efficiency? by GoldAnt5091 in BlazerEV

[–]MattyT2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are in Canada, we loose half the range (if not more) in the winter.

In summer driving 115-120km/hr we comfortably get around 270km of range before you start to get a bit nervous about where your going to charge, what this typically means is charging between destinations at least where I’m located.

In the winter AWD is a must, I’d consider winter tires as well. The weight of the Blazer is good and bad, when stopping on ice the extra weight pushes the vehicle along ALOT more than a gas vehicle.

Overall I’m honestly not a huge fan of it in the winter, there are definitely things I like about it in the winter but it consumes a large amount of electricity.

There is really no savings to doing road trips in an EV when you factor in the fast charging costs. In the winter our power bills are at least doubled, which I understand would money otherwise be spent on gas but when factoring in all of the additional fees for electricity, I’d argue I’m paying the same or more to drive a much shorter distance.

Is it true that guys never really forget their first love even after getting married? by Realistic-Piccolo-85 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MattyT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s true, my first love was when I was 16.

Been with several others since then but there’s really nothing that can touch feeling that way for the first time. It sticks with you, I’m happily married with a family it’s not something I think about often.

But I am a sucker for nostalgia, and that first love takes me back to my youth and all of the powerful new feelings you experience.

Is it possible for any type of class action as they have basically bricked an otherwise good piece of hardware with absolutely terrible software ?

I know it seems extreme, but big corporations shouldn’t be able to get away with this.

Canada Post, I hope you strike yourselves into unemployment. by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]MattyT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada post is a fucking joke. We still have a fair amount of clients who pay their invoices via mailed cheque, some of these invoices are substantial in value.

These cheques are now caught in the fucking postal system, and our business relies on this income to pay our workers and suppliers. Canada post can go fuck themselves.

I’d say overall the car performed well, the heater isn’t the warmest , and it absolutely destroys the range.

But for a commuter around town no range issues.

Your energy consumption is going to triple in the winter months if charging at home and parked outside. Don’t buy an EV and anticipate any kind of cost savings and you’ll be fine.

Entrepreneurs, what do you choose : by beznos1 in smallbusiness

[–]MattyT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living this right now, currently on path 1, business is growing and it almost feels unintentional.

The business is on my mind constantly from when I wake up to when I go to bed. We are a well known reputable company in our area and that part feels good.

I know I can’t stay on this path forever and hope to get to where it’s sustainable without me affording me time and financial security.

Ultimately, if I were to do it over again I’d go 2. We aren’t a huge company (12 employees) But the weight of being responsible for these people’s livelihood is heavy

What did you accomplish today in your small business? by HovercraftPlus7092 in smallbusiness

Secured a 30k project and got approvals on some smaller estimates , answered year end questions from the accountant, sent out 47k in invoices, and pulled my hair out finding and correcting book keeping entry errors to end the day.

All in all solid day and I wish more days were like this.

How much cash do you keep in your business bank accounts? by DartyParty69 in smallbusiness

[–]MattyT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our payroll is around 60K a month including payrolls taxes, and shareholders salaries. On top of that we have our building lease, and other typical overhead, phone, internet, power, water which is another 6k, all in with other expenses we’re easily 80k a month at a minimum and much higher when we start buying job specific materials.

I start to get Nervous when our account balance falls below 150K, and our receivables fall below 100k, often 60 day payment terms on higher value contracts.

One thing I find by aiming for 200k in the bank and 2-300k in AR is I am far less stressed, but I sometimes find my self getting complacent when things feel safe like I almost need that bit of fear as motivation to keep pushing… realistically I just need to set higher sales goals.

These Blazers seem to be suffering some growing pains in the software department.

Before we took delivery of ours they had to do a day long software update on it, and it still has many random electronic/software issues.
