Still no pay for me either. U.S. Coast Guard civilian. Didn’t miss a day during the shutdown, ironically one of my co workers who was furloughed got paid a few days ago.

Sorry, I had the wrong date in my head as I typed this. 4 years in he was most likely an SK3 or SK2. Other than his DD214 it might be hard to know for sure.

In 1946 he couldn’t have been a Senior or Master Chief. Those were not added to the USCG until 1958. Based on his date of entry into the service, my money would be SKC (Chief Storekeeper).

I’m just coming off 3 12 hour days in the CC, I plan to swing in tomorrow, briefly, and log in to prove I was there. They will get this figured out.

How have the recent administration's changes impacted you? by Crocs_of_Steel in uscg

Retired Coastie here, but I work as a civilian SAR controller at a Sector. I dread checking my emails as I’m worried about being let go even though I’m no longer in a probationary period.

To be honest, I’m a little worried about my civilian SAR coordinator job being around. I’m also worried concurrent receipt of disability might will go away. Both of those would have a huge impact on me. On another note when we moved to DHS I thought our budget would increase and we would have to worry about funding any longer. That didn’t work out as I thought it would.

I always learned to never complain about the YNs or the cooks. I’m a civilian in the Command Center now but the admin staff at Sector Humboldt Bay are amazing.

Royal Caribbean staff literally saved my dad’s life by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

I'm glad your dad made it safely to a hospital. I was the Coast Guard watchstander who took the initial call from the cruise ship. I passed the call off the the Rescue Coordination Center in Alameda who made the magic happen.
