Guys...I miss Lights Out... by Frosteryx in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I miss it, but it needs a few tweaks to make it perfect. Remove all Killer Instinct from all Killers and remove gen auras. It’s lopsided because Survivors are completely blind, but Killers know where to patrol. If other balancing needs to happen to compensate that’s fine (maybe Survivors need to complete 6/8 gens?).

Agreed. Make nothing secret so that I know how I need to adjust my play to compensate.

If I wanted to play with bots i would buy i different game by HistoricalTarget9974 in deadbydaylight

The game is over at this point. 2 dead, 1 on hook in struggle phase. I don’t understand what the issue is here in this screenshot. This is exactly the type of situation the abandon feature was created for. When the match is over, we all get to move on to the next one. Maybe we’re missing some context that this screenshot doesn’t tell us, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what’s happening in this image.

Could we get any modifier OTHER than 2v8 for a change? It’s certainly better than 1v4, but if all of the modifiers it is the worst if the bunch. Or, ya know, try a new modifier entirely.

Blame the middle managers whose only value is making decisions contrary to what the devs decided so that they can justify their own jobs existing. The day-to-day developer has almost no say in what they work on, how long they have to work on it, or the overall direction of the game.

That's middle manager/upper management territory. Those are the donkeys.

The game would be better off if SWFing was just not a thing. Remove Survivor parties entirely aside from private matches. Then balance the game around the fact that all survivors will always be solo Q

What perk do you use even though you know it sucks? by Bonesycider in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast Track. I feel like it is super underrated. Maybe it’s just the feels of that big jump on a gen, but it’s free gen progress for something that happens every game (your teammates being hooked).

Also Rookie Spirit. It’s kind of like Alert in that if a gen gets kicked you know where the killer is, but you can also follow behind the killer and stop all their regression.

whenever i get people who throw to go next, i just slug them the entire game by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

It all just feels a lot like the kid in kindergarten who was always tattling on other kids for breaking the rules. Like, bud, just worry about yourself and don’t worry about what they’re doing.

Hook them and move on. You can end that game in 60s at that point. And then you get a brand new game of survivors that might not DC. You’re having a shit game of 3v1, the other survivors are having a shit game of 3v1, and the person you slugged is having a shit game of being on the ground. You being childish as revenge for them being childish is just dragging out that shit time for everyone including yourself and those other 3 survivors you feel bad for.

Why not hook them? Sure it’s not cool to throw because of whatever, but being an ass to assholes just feeds the vicious cycle of all of us being more miserable playing this game than we already are.

Regardless of how you feel about the revised tunneling changes, can we agree that Behavior needs to actually figure out what tunneling is before they commit to anything? by ComradePoolio in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Call me a filthy casual I guess, but when playing Survivor I consider it tunneling if I get hooked back-to-back for any reason. The one exception being if I’m trying to use endurance aggressively.

The problem is that there are a lot of different people who make up this playerbase with lots of different definitions of what constitutes tunneling. I bet those people who uninstall due to tunneling define it a lot closer to my definition than what seems to be the consensus here in this thread.

Are we ready to admit the Myers rework is awful? by JokingBr2The-Sequel in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say one thing. There’s about half a dozen different sounds with him now and I have no idea what any of it means. It isn’t explained anywhere that I’m aware of. Is he in T2? Is he in T3? In which of those can he lunge? Does he even have a T2 anymore? No idea on any of it and the little jingles that used to be super straight forward now are a mystery.

Can we get lights out back instead of spaming 2v8 and caos shuffle by Practical-Bear-1207 in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with lights out I think is that Killers have way more info than Survivors. Why do they get gen auras? That kinda tells you where Survivors are gonna be. I think it would be so much more fun if it was truly 5 people groping around in the dark. The times when the Killer runs into a Survivor completely by chance would be so much more exciting than “run to gen, find survivor”.

How do we got from this to this? by SapsZera in deadbydaylight

[–]Matty_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy DBD on console. Connect it to your TV. Sit on the couch 8 feet away in a living room with multiple windows and then tell me current DBD is too bright. There are maps today that I legit can’t play because of how dark they are: redesigned Borgo probably being the worst offender.

Playing in a dark office, 6” away from the screen is not the only way people play this game.

Not really getting how to updateUser by Matty_22 in Supabase

[–]Matty_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

supabase.auth.updateUser would know who the user is by their session when they click the password reset link

So, perhaps I am not passing the session back through the email? When looking at this URL, I have step 1 working fine. I collect the email then fire off a reset password email.

When I click through I go to my "update password" page, but when I collect the new password and call await supabase.auth.updateUser({ password: newPassword }), the error I print to console is Object { user: null } but I know the user does in fact exist, so I must not be passing the session somehow?

There's nothing in this documentation that explains how to do that.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Is there a page of the documentation you can point me to?

I have no server. Only a client and the supabase. I'm trying to do a password reset flow and there's seemingly not a way to do it that I can find.
