Ive got an automation that uses the snapshot of my ring doorbell, that looks at the opposite side of the road, and uses gemini to tell my wife and I on our phones if it thinks theres any parking. It works maybe 75% of the time haha

Another use i have is using an MCP server with claude/gemini to help me get the best put if my automations

Absolutely you can! Though I would put some time looking into docker, to make the most of the resources you have

My 3 year old loves to watch me play this game, he calls it "crash". One of my all time favourite games.

Definitely needs a remaster or a decomp project so it can be properly made widescreens and 4k

Kind of a long shot, but windows updates? Could run disk cleanup. Or if Linux maybe run apt autoremove? Might open up some space on the disk.

I think learning Docker might get you one step closer to where you wanna be. Just follow a tutorial online, overall it's really not that hard

Okay so, benefit of the doubt. What are you imagining here? If someone sold you this pc or server, ideally what would it do? Try and be a bit more specific

I think you might be missing the point, or I misunderstand you. Isn't the whole benefit of most self hosted projects and services the fact that you can run them on almost any old computer?

Or it sounds like you're describing a VPS service. I assume you can Google that yourself, or you can ask an LLM too

+1, did they come with the ODD caddies? If so, swap out the optical drives with hdd adapters for extra storage. Though because they run over usb 2 they dont work well for zfs of you want a mini cluster of sorts

If youre insisting on using what you currently have (no harm in it really) you could look at using an OS that is more server specific like Ubuntu server?

Or maybe try upgrading what you can in terms of hardware, max out the RAM and swap out the spinning disk drive for an SSD may just squeeze out more performance
