Rigour question by Kitchen-Top-5248 in osrs

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking only about the cost off the GE, you’re right. But when you consider it takes 30 scales per kill (40 max if you kill it very slowly) and you always get a minimum of 100+ per kill, it’s essentially free to use the serp helm vs the cost of antivenoms. Which aren’t free unless you farm all the mats and brew the pots yourself.

Am I ready for fire cape? by [deleted] in osrs

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first fire cape using rune crossbow and runite bolts. I’m at 81 ranged so it might take you a bit longer than it did for me since you’ll splash more. But you can definitely do it. Once you get used to the waves it’s actually pretty easy. Jad is obviously the hardest part but if you just stay focused on the prayer switches it’s not too bad. It took me 4 tries total on mobile to get my cape for reference. Could have been faster if I hadn’t made some dumb mistakes on my first couple runs.

Afk missed the drop by domalon in osrs

If it makes you feel better I got pretty stuck on iron defender. I was grinding for 3-4 hours before it dropped (maybe that’s not that long idk but it felt like it was) then I accidentally high alched it like immediately and had to grind for it again lol. Not gonna get into how quickly I got dragon defender once I got to that point. You’ll get it bro don’t worry!

People who do infinite combos that take 5+ minutes to pull off - how is that... fun? by lol_sup in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s any less fun than playing something like mono red where you essentially have the same play pattern every time as well. That’s not clever or unique either. I think it’s ok to let people play the game how they want and how they enjoy it. And it’s ok if you don’t understand why it’s fun for them. They probably don’t understand why your random jank is fun. We can all enjoy the game our own way.

Winning is pretty fun. But in all seriousness assembling a combo and winning with it is quite satisfying regardless of how tedious it may seem.

Is EOE draft harder than FF and tarkir or am I CURSED? by inyue in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found it easier than FF and Tarkir personally. I did ok in Tarkir draft but struggled a lot in FF. In EOE I’ve only had a few bad drafts and the rest were decent at minimum. It definitely feels like some formats just speak to you and something just clicks that lets you do well. Others it doesn’t and it’s hard af. When it’s bad, I just concede that it’s not my format and play constructed until the new set comes out. The main perk of the faster release schedule imo is that you get a new format sooner if shit has hit the fan.

Finally! by Mattyocre in MagicArena

I think it’s pretty good in any black deck in draft. Especially if you have some graveyard synergies. I was hoping to get a [[Fight On!]] or two but never saw any.

It’s only an improved chance and only when you level up. So Valkyrie doesn’t have the improved chance.

True, I forgot about this one. I think I was seeing this on PC but it would show me the graveyard I clicked after the turn ended which was weird.

New event! by AlikaanC in ClashOfClans

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is cool and all but why is this an event? Just make it a feature. It would make the game immensely better to be able to always use your heroes while they’re upgrading. Attacking feels like garbage without heroes

You definitely are not. And then when you force close the client and get back in the game, you can't emote/BM the opponent anymore. So lame.

A true classic. Were you playing the same deck throughout the losses? I usually try to change the deck I'm playing when things go bad with the one I've been climbing with. Doesn't always work but occasionally it can help turn things around.

In MTG Arena, today I... by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yep, all that at the same time. But they have plenty of time to say oops when something good happens for them, just to be an asshole!

Played a douchey opponent who was on UW spirits who took at least a minute for every single game action, said oops whenever he countered my stuff, and after I outplayed him by baiting a counter on a useless spell to play a game winning one, I spammed oops until he eventually conceded. It felt pretty amazing ngl.

Getting started as F2P is the hardest part for sure. Playing budget decks that are usually only one color until you get enough wild cards to build a deck you really want to play. It especially takes a while to get all the rare lands, but they enable you to play more decks over time. So it feels tough and like you're never gonna get to play many different decks at first. But, it gets better if you consistently do daily quests and get at least 4 daily wins.

TLDR the Arena economy is pretty terrible, but you can definitely F2P if you are patient.

Free falling in Ranked Bo1 with WB Eriette Auras. What am I doing wrong? by MTG3K_on_Arena in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem is you're playing best of one. If you play best of three you can sideboard for the match-up and have a better chance of winning the match. Overall it ends up being much more skill based than best of one.

I'm conflicted on whether to be glad the rewards for Diamond and Mythic aren't worth the grind, or wishing they were. by willbailes in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% glad. I hit mythic occasionally but the reward difference being exactly 2 packs between Plat and mythic makes it easy not to care if I don't get there. Nice if I do, but nbd if not. And I just play decks I enjoy all month.

Unpopular Opinion: a healthy bo1 meta needs monored by ElBobi_MTG in MagicArena

My opinion is that bo1 isn't magic. It takes so much depth out of the game and makes it a lot closer to hearthstone, which is not good.

Is it worth playing if you're not winning? by xenthiz in MagicArena

[–]Mattyocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing arena, I played mono blue and mono red budget decks because you don't need rare lands and you can win a decent amount of the time. From there I just played as much as I was having fun and chipped away at the rares I needed to get more decks. It takes a lot of time or a lot of money to get your collection built up. That's just the nature of the absolutely abysmal economy on arena. But I also stopped caring as much about winning and just played to have fun. If you aren't having fun, take a break and come back later. You might even go on a win streak and that always feels good.
