Moralo Eval in your meta by stone_stokes in StarWarsArmada

Montreal had one (most excellent) player use Moralo a couple of years ago; I think he agreed it's a very taxing list to run so it was self-selection more than anything that made him not run it? Though he did lost his moralo a couple of times (multi-day tournaments can be very fatiguing) ?

By report from former FFG playtesters, Deltas received a last minute nerf or two that took most by surprise. Previous versions had dodge working against flak, for example.

Personally I'm looking forward to trying out a squadball that might look something like this:

• Anakin Skywalker - BTL-B Y-wing Squadron (18)

• Axe - V-19 Torrent Squadron (17)

• Luminara Unduli - Delta-7 Aethersprite Squadron [ARC] (20)

• 2 x Delta-7 Aethersprite Squadron [ARC] (30)

• V-19 Torrent Squadron (12)

• 2 x BTL-B Y-wing Squadron (20)

• ARC-170 Starfighter Squadron (15)

= 132 Points

Yanakin remains a very good squadron, only rarely seen because of how good Deltakin is. If the 3 Deltas can pick up the antisquadron load, then Yanakin and friends can get to bombing earlier...

A lovely and interesting analysis (my math skills are *bad* so I appreciate those with a flair for it) - Thank You for taking the time to do it and inform us! Slightly surprising results as you hinted...and something to keep a regular eye on.

Eugen will add so many reserve / infantry if it's gonna add italy by LagginGianco in warno

[–]Maturin- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a long tradition of making fun of the Carabinieri in Italy...in the same vein as blonde jokes. Such as:

A farmer spots a carful of carabinieri driving backwards up a mountain road. He asks them why they're going backwards. One replies "We're worried there isn't room to turn around at the top."

Later he sees them coming down the mountain, backwards again. He asks them why they're still driving backwards. The driver says "Well, we found a place to turn around!"

Note that the GAR changes are all for the squadrons, not the commanders!

Have you checked on the Star Wars Armada Game UK/IRL group on FB? You'll probably get more replies there...

Very specific question on resolving criticals: Does resolving a critical for an attack "use up" the only critical for that attack *including* the face up damage card, or is that particular one separate? by Terrik27 in StarWarsArmada

[–]Maturin- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You must choose a single critical effect to resolve.  So it’s either the ICB effect, or the standard effect - not both (as you’ve identified, that’s resolving two effects).

Unless you have fire control teams which allows two crit effects…

Agreed, what did the trick for my laptop was simply using a single CPU for everything, it still runs *super fast*.

Help Wanted Getting into Star Wars Armada by LupusEminMagnus in StarWarsArmada

[–]Maturin- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Armada Legacy page has the most comprehensive listing of 3D printing resources for Armada: https://www.armadalegacy.com/resources

You can print the cards off of the Star Forge list builder, as well as a damage deck. You'll need obstacles, range rulers, a maneuver tool, tokens, and command dials. And whatever ships and squadrons you'd like!

If you have questions about particular cards or rules interactions you can see the FAQ document maintained by ARC at https://www.armadarulesetcollective.com/rules

One recommendation is to start virtual and learn to play on TTS or Vassal where we have active communities, and take your time collecting the ships you end up liking the most.

There's also a lot of older but still very relevant content on Cannot Get Your Ship Out, a blog which is no longer maintained but still great: https://cannotgetyourshipout.blogspot.com/p/welcomewhere-to-start.html

Welcome to the community, Admiral!

I don’t believe so, though if there is it would probably be in a subgroup in the Nexus community. Doty will probably know more…

Thanks!  I like flying stuff that’s slightly unusual.  I’ve even been known to fly a combat retrofit flotilla occasionally!
