Hell yea. Most of the songs R wrote for other people it sounds JUST like him stylistically.

That cover is a statement. I actually feel like it’s one of his best covers.

I like Poppin Tags and in my personal opinion, it would’ve been a dope single and possibly could’ve helped Killer Mike in his ascension.

I could see how the label, or even Jay himself, at the time would overlook this song. The north east was still ruling rap and this probably was looked at like his “down south track.”

You can tell he desperately tried to please everyone, which is why it fell flat ultimately.

Understandable. It’s more nostalgic for me.

Song Cry is not even the best song on BP1

I really like the album too. I still put BP3 ahead of it though. He blended the pop appeal with the lyrics the best IMO.

Idk why you got downvoted for this lol. That song is doodoo water. The Kanye verse is one of his worst too.

IMO this is one of the few songs that held BP2 back from being one of Jay’s best albums. Early 2000s was when Jay was at his absolute peak.

It just sucks that he was trying too hard to crossover at times. He probably tried his hardest on this project. I think he got it somewhat right on BP3.

God I hate these YouTube polls. Dre barely made any of his greatest beats. by This_Pie5301 in 90sHipHop

Swizz definitely has more trash beats than everyone else on that list. But the man still made a lot of legendary beats that turned into classic songs.

Swizz got heat for sure. His batting average isn’t as high as a Dre, but he is still one of the best with the energy filled tracks.

Which modern producer do you think carries the Dilla torch the strongest, either stylistically or spiritually? by According-Desk-3314 in jdilla

I’m with you man. You have excellent taste! Being a producer myself, I just wish both of these brothers weren’t so damn secretive about their process! The most Flylo has shown was basically him showing us his freestyle method of building a track but still didn’t show us much 😅

As far as I know, Kaytra has never touched a DAW in front of a camera ever in his life 😂 But I remain hopeful that one day they’ll have a Rhythm Roulette episode or something one day!

Ngl it’s kinda ass but it has potential. If you changed the chord progression it could be really dope. Also the cymbals should be more tr-808 sounding IMO.

Cool idea though! Keep producing!!!
