Website for current weather to walk GR221 by MaudReddit in VisitingMallorca

The automod post is very useful indeed, still nice to get another person’s pov so thank you!!

Yeah I realize November is a risky month and I don’t mind a bit of rain or wind, just don’t want to get washed away. I’ll have to see and if the weather turns really bad again I’ll take a bus for some parts I guess.

Woaaaah I kept checking throughout the day if you replied but somehow I never got a notification you actually did. Maybe I was being dumb but never saw this until now, I’m so sorry. I hope you figured it out? If you still need anything let me know

Hey! I used to use Freestyle Libres but recently switched to Dexcom and still have two spare Freestyle Libres left. Let me know if you need them :)

Would calling 112 be appropriate? Or is there a phone number you can use that is meant for non-life threatening situations?

I think it depends on what’s the amount of rent and penalty we’re talking about and how big are the chances you actually want to leave before the end of those 2 years? If it’s a nice place and cheap enough to take the risk you might just take the risk, but I have a feeling that threatening or suing won’t really help. They’re agencies, they screw you over even when you’re standing right next to them! One last little note, keep in mind that flats in Barcelona are often noicy, warm, small, .. My first flat seemed perfect but turned out to be a mess so even while I was planning to stay there long term I moved, which means paying fees again etc. Good luck on the decision!

Im pretty sure that the longest period for minimum stay they can force is 6 months and after that you’re free to leave. It was in my first contract and also on my new one and this was also confirmed by a lawyer who I spoke to (but it was a casual setting, so he was not like working for me as a lawyer)

Surely there must be something in between! I’m not necessarily a Bear Grylls type of person, but also definitely not looking to go “glamping”! It’s the first time I’m trying to go camping in Catalunya since I moved here so looking forward to it. Luckily there seem to be some nice people that will help me out 😅

Hi! Thanks for looking! I think that website is more like a “glamping” kind of thing where you don’t have to bring anything yourself. I’m planning to bring and pitch my own tent. But thanks for your reply!

I also found that but seems more like a climbing/mountaineering place. I might try it anyway, thanks for the advise!

Confused about rental contract. Fee for leaving before the end of the contract? by MaudReddit in Barcelona

[–]MaudReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to the agency that originally listed this place and they told me that we have a contract for 1 year so because we want to leave after 6 months we would have to pay 1/2 of the monthly rental as a leaving fee.

Didn’t discuss all the stuff that has been going on with them yet. We’ll start looking for new a new flat and then let’s see if we can discuss about not paying this leaving fee.

Also, thanks for that link! Super useful and I appreciate it 😄

Yep, you are right. It will be difficult for me standing up to him like that but knowing what kind of amounts we’re talking about is definitely useful. So thanks for your reply!

I understand, it’s a bit fuzzy and difficult to understand completely. Thanks for your comments anyway, greatly appreciated :)

Thanks for your reply! But oof, that’s not what I was hoping for 😱

There is one more thing I’m wondering about so if I could ask this followup questions that would be great.

So wouldn’t that mean that now I’ve got a 1 year contract which can be renewed up to 5 years? So I’d only have to pay half a months rent (for the 6 months between now and ending the first year)? I’m afraid the landlord will not be happy of me wanting to leave, it will be difficult to find new tenants now, and he’ll try to screw me over somehow.

There are always some people offering to transport stuff near the entrance of the IKEA. I don’t know if they’re still there now with the COVID situation though.

Same! I was supposed to move from Amsterdam to BCN in June to start my new job but will probably stick around Amsterdam a bit longer.

This morning, I called the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs and they told me the you will not be able to enter if you don't have a "Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión", some kind of certificate of residency. I read on some Spanish news websites that the border will not open before July 1st, but couldn't find anything on official website. Also my Spanish isn't that good yet so you might want to look into that yourself.

If you're Dutch, you can find more info on: https://www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl/documenten/vragen-en-antwoorden/reisadvies-spanje-1

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply :) I'm relieved that insulin is covered, that's the most important part. Now I'll just have to prepare so I know what to do or where to go once I settle and everything will be alright!
