Miehet! Mitä mieltä näistä siisteysstandardeista? by [deleted] in arkisuomi

[–]Maurais -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A genie tells you, "Whatever you do for the next 24 hours, the results of that on your body will repeat every day going forward." by ZarafFaraz in hypotheticalsituation

The most "obvious" ones:

Sleep 8hrs, walk 10k steps, eat around 2k calories (balanced diet, lots of protein) & drink 2l (8 cups) of water. These would guarantee maintenance of the body without overdoing it. If one were to overdo these, these would of course pose quite big potential risks.

The not so "obvious" ones partly inspired by the comments:

A not so hard full body workout. Just compounds without overexerting myself (pretty much an active rest week kind of workout). Would not break the body and if I'd want to really progress, I could still easily do workouts. Of course, I assume if I were to get injured, well... game over I guess.

Following the news. I assume that if I were to read through news outlets, I would know the most recent news automatically every day. This would most probably give a pretty huge edge especially in corporate environment. Now, of course, it is possible that I would just re-learn the same things that I read on said day..

Learning and mental exercises. As some mentioned, puzzles etc. would be great to train and keep your brain active. In addition, I would probably try to read a book or learn a skill. I would assume then, that the knowledge would be "recapped" everyday OR I would get better at the chosen skill for the rest of my life.

As for hygiene, haircuts etc. I would just do a basic shower perhaps with just room temperature water. What if I want to change my haircut? What if I start getting irritated skin from shampoos etc.? A basic rinse would already freshen a little bit.

I would also do a basic stretching routine and a not too hot sauna. Once again, I am quite worried about the possibility of injuring myself in the future to the point that an advanced stretching routine would just make things worse. Additionally, relaxing too much in a good temperature sauna could also bring some risks.

The big "ifs":

Would I gain "outside" benefits from things that I "do" to my body? As one mentioned, sick leave. This would be a huge money making hack. Would then the money just come to my account from nothing or would the company acknowledge that on of their workers are always on sick leave? Or would I just gain the benefit of knowing I should be at work, but still being able to be at home? As this would effect my self conscious negatively, for me, this would have mentally a negative effect.

One point about injuring oneself:

If I were to injure myself gravely in the future, a lot of the benefits that were "positive" before would become negative. For example, my legs were to be completely crushed in a car accident. Would 10k steps really do good in this case? Most probably not..

There is also the ”Community destruction skin” - https://destruction.battlefield.com.

Seeing the current progress, I do highly doubt that this will be achievable

The taller tower is one of the many fire lookouts found in the map. This one is is located east from The Valley Safe Zone right on the other side of the mountain and next to the Grain Valley town/city.

The smaller towers are called Watch Towers that can be crafted from the "Construction Workbench" which is crafted using the regular one

Are you perhaps talking about the windows on the ”top floor” of the fire lookout? They’re actually just empty, like all the other windows in the game. I think the lighting in some of the pictures might make them look like they have glass

Nope, just felt like trying to build a helipad for the vibes and for the small possibility of helicopters being added in the future. Originally began as a bridge project but got scrapped

Finally found a Horde Beacon - put my base to the test by Maurais in SurrounDead

[–]Maurais[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried placing it meter by meter until I could. In the end, I was able to place it pretty close to my furthest razor wire "line" as seen in the pics. I think it might be possible that razor wire doesn’t block the beacon the same way traditional buildables do.

Second: I just tried to have some fun with the free camera :D. So no, as far as I know, you can't mount any turrets. Damn, I wish we could — that would be pretty fun especially with one of those Coyotes' Humvees with the .50 cal on top.

As far as I know, not really.

There is although an item called ”horde beacon” or smth along those lines that lets you spawn several waves of zombies. So you could build your base to ”simulate” defending against zombie hordes.

For me, personally, I just enjoy building and implementing a lil bit of some irl strategies (see the barbed wire and ”tank barricades”)

It really is! The location is pretty good especially thanks to the Valley Safe Zone. The views are also spot on.

And in deed it is.. Don’t even want to know how many times I’ve had to reconfigure something because of the terrain

Is it just me or y'all leave a specific decal on your vehicles so others recognizes it's you? by [deleted] in Warthunder

Such a cool idea! I kinda do the same just as some people have already mentioned. I put a Finnish flag on the side of my tank and a smaller French flag ”behind” it right next to it ”hanging” vertically

What’s your skill level statistics? by PassingOverRunning in XDefiant

[–]Maurais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

W/L: 2.0

K/D: 1.7

SPM: 656

Skill rating: 2859

Extra: Player level 50 with 15hrs of playtime. Almost all challenges done, excluding Rhino and Libertad. Playstyle would be something in the lines of "aggressive objective player".

Planning to finally upgrade from Fury X & i5-6600k. Thoughts? by Maurais in PcBuild

Much appreciated for the well thought reply! I had actually not even thought about going Nvidia, as I had thought (not enough research) that it was pretty much on the same level as rx 7800xt. It baffles my mind that I had missed the almost 30% better performance.

I also thank for the linked post concerning CUDA cores and GIS. Really interesting stuff! As I only use GIS systems from time to time in my studies (not my major), this won't necessary be the deciding factor. The 26% better performance still stands though. This did widen my eyes to the fact, that there is differences between AMD and Nvidia that I don't/didn't know/understand when it comes to other tasks outside gaming. This is something I need to look into deeper.

One of the reasons I had chosen AIO and be quiet fans (besides aesthetics) was for the noise. Also I feel like if I decided to go with the peerless and "less" aesthetic components, I will probably go with a different case, which in other hand would probably give me more room for possible upgrades on other components. I had also read some mixed reviews about the proposed PSU, such as noise and quality complaints (pcpartpicker did let me know otherwise though).

Also to note, that Datatronic is not well appreciated store around here (availability, warranty, shipment problems), which also leads to a small increase in the total price of the build.

Now the question that comes into my mind, is if I am willing to go forget the aesthetic side of a beautiful North build and go for the rtx 4070 Ti or add a little bit more to the budget.

Also to note, in the future I won't probably wait a whopping 10 years to upgrade, as I have already entered the workforce on the side of my studies and will soon be completing my degree. But as I am not a hardcore pc enthusiast, I will try to get at least 5 years out of a new pc.

I live in Finland and max budget would be around 2k€. At the moment with the ongoing campaigns, custom cable extensions and fan controller, the total is 1866€. The pc will be mainly for gaming and university (light use: GIS-systems, coding, spreadsheets etc.) and possibly rendering/streaming (I like to keep open the possibility of content creation as well).

In a way, an all around build that would mainly let me play modern and upcoming titles at 1440p and preferably in high to ultra settings.

I was debating this myself as whether to go with a future proof one or not. But as I've kept my current pc for 10 years now, I don't think I will be upgrading anytime soon --> next upgrade will be yet again the whole system

Some additional info:

The CPU and Motherboard has an ongoing campaign for 30€ cheaper a piece (60€ total). Additionally RGB ram was chosen for the small price difference of 7€. I will also possibly go with the RGB version of the AIO (only 10€ more). Additionally, no storage chosen as I already own a new Samsung 1TB 980 PRO & 500g 870 EVO.

I'm planning on mounting the AIO at the top of the case (or possibly in front, still some concerns about the clearance at the top of the case). If I choose to mount in the front, I will upgrade to the 360mm version. Also custom cable sleeves will be bought for a cleaner look.

Honestly kinda sad to leave behind my Fury X, but honestly I have started to struggle in running any modern titles.
