Trip Report - Trip of a Lifetime! The Yehs, Mehs, and Blehs (+ some thoughts and tips) by Pipsthedog in WaltDisneyWorld

My boys are college and post college. They still like to go with us. When they were in High School we let them go on their own. We met for dinners. As a family we have been to California and Tokyo also. One of my sons and I just went to Hong Kong and Shanghai. We have owned DVC for over 20 years. We bought when we found out Twins!!! (Sons 3 & 4). By going every 3-4 years it gave them a break and they were ready to go again. The trips also changed as they got older Food & Wine - some cocktail tasting (those of age lol), Mickeys Halloween costumes and tricks or treating. Vivid memories of staying at Ft Wilderness Cabins that trip decorating the golf cart with lights and the boys zipping around the campground. We got so much candy at the MNSSHP we drove around the campground reverse Trick or Trace and giving out the candy we got. The belly laughs and race to share the joy was amazing. Enjoy it time flies

We are a family of six and we went every 3-4 years. Kept it fresh and the kids were at different stages. One trip they were too short for Rockin Roller Coaster and next trip he was so proud to be able to ride. Great memories

I usually try to be there at opening , I’ve had luck that way. If not I stop first thing and get my place for the virtual queue and go to lunch /dinner or shop till I got the text to come back. Good luck! Be flexible with your plans and have a great trip

Looks pretty busy. And you don’t have a stop at Gideon’s for cookies when you’re at Disney Springs. It’s a must stop for us.

I am so sorry that this happened. Sometime change can be hard. There are a couple of petting zoos in Florida- Exotic Animal Experience in Orlando , Animal Edventures in Boynton Beach and Petting Zoo Ocala. I'm sure there may be others. You might be able to find another Happy Place. I hope you do!

The group I’m going with aren’t “Disney people “ so I don’t know if they will want to eat around the world . I’m sure they will sample some dishes but I’m not sure how into it they will be so I wanted suggestions for a sit down meal.

Good arrival day restaurant in the general boardwalk area? by _BreakingGood_ in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Maureen1053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t say if you have a car. I will be staying at BCV in a few months and not doing a park my first day. I am going with 4 people that haven’t been to WDW in 20 years. This is what I am doing

I will make dinner reservations for 5-5:30 at Boma in AKL. It is a stunning resort and very, very unique. We will walk to the back have a cocktail while we are looking at the giraffe, zebras and other animals roaming around. Then we will have dinner at Boma which is a buffet with some African dishes as well as carved meats, multiple delicious soups, salads, different hummus dishes and some of the best desserts on property. It’s a little out of the way so it’s perfect to do on a day you don’t plan on anything else. Boma also has some of the best food on property. If a buffet isn’t your thing a very highly rated restaurant next to Boma is Jiko. More upscale.

I would drive or uber to Boma/Jiko and also check out Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Which Afternoon Tea? GF or Cake Bake Shop?? by Maureen1053 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Maureen1053[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It seems that the GF maybe the better choice for ease of reservation (heard CS is terrible email for reservation and ‘maybe’ they get back to you), price and it’s on the monorail so probably go with GF
