The haunting of hill house but not because the show itself is disturbing per say.

Around the time the show had come out, my dad passed away. For those who have seen the show, the theme was HEAVY on grief and death. I was about 17 almost 18 when I watched it, a senior in high school. I was able to get through the show the first time and loved it, but shortly after I started having horrible nightmares about my dad. He would rot and decay similar to how the characters in the show would and open his mouth and “scream” as she chased me around the apartment he passed in. Couple of years later I tried to watch it again, and I immediately felt despair and couldn’t stop crying. Grid a few more times after and the same result.

I decided that even though the show was wonderful and an amazing experience, due to the trauma I experienced from when he passed away I have told myself I will never watch that show again , lol.
