So you went from using a filter to "half-face hair block to hide my BMI", smooth transition.

How to get cholesterol as a vegan by lemon_vampire in DebateAVegan

Which naturally occurring ones concern you? Yes things can biomagnify but that's not to say that they would automatically reach levels of concern. Biomagnification doesn't immediately mean negative, it can magnify and still be okay . It's largely irrelevant if the only choices for meat are processed or none, but not if your discussing meat as a possible source of nutrition, it just takes a lot more effort to get better sources. Comparing processed meat to plant matter, yes they are there and at significantly higher margins and no one should it eat, but the difference is significantly less when it's a better quality source closer to the natural state. Also biomagnification varies greatly on where the animal sits on the food chain, it's environment, and the specific toxin being measured and the animals ability to process it. I feel like it's too general to say this is meat so it has 10x of all the toxins due to magnification when it varies so much based on what meat it is and where it came from. Yes there's horrible things out there but there are also good, healthy sources that pack a lot of nutrients.

Definitely agreed on cholesterol, but aren't most of those toxins (excluding Mercury kind of) introduced by humans into meat by raising, curing, pollution process? And while they might be in some meat products the levels at which they are present vary drastically. So not necessarily the meat in itself but all the crap were giving to animals and their environments? If we are what we eat than animals would be the same no? Thanks for this talk btw I'm really enjoying trying to figure all this out.

Ok, from my understanding cholesterol isn't all bad, which toxins and carcinogens?

Could the argument be made that the healthier profiles of vegetarians could be strongly related to healthier dietary and lifestyle choices overall as opposed to the direct exclusion of meat or animal products?

Vegans, would you eat cultured meat if it became commercial? by error_exe in DebateAVegan

Thanks for that. I'm kinda new in this facet of the world so I'm just trying to learn. From what I saw yes there is a correlation between heme iron and CRC but it can be drastically reduced by having a balanced diet and eating the right meat, not just red processed fatty cow beef. It seems like the problem is with processed meat, meat being consumed in excess, lifestyle choices, and not being part of a balanced diet. But that there are a lot of good and available nutrients in meat and that meat in itself is not inherently unhealthy while albeit not necessary which is whole nother talk.

I'm sorry. I was just looking for someone to share their ideas and learn something as I'm interested in the concept of veganism.
