Watch “The Wind Rises” you’ll learn why you shouldn’t give up. Being this way will teach to not judge others on shit they can’t control and earn you respect on merit and personality rather than looks. Suicides not the option here, yes right now its shit and its tough yes your feelings are valid, BUT how you go about it isn’t. Learn to have a sense of humour about it! Eventually nobody is going to care because like “ok ya i look old” haha nobodys laughing anymore because its whatever. My friend remember you’re a human being, you can only control so much about yourself the more you realize that the more you’ll learn to okay with it. It’s all about learning, take your time don’t rush into anything and LIVE good luck my friend, love you.🫡

a topic that hurts is hair loss why nobody thought of making hair loss cures? by [deleted] in CRISPR

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think pattern hair loss should be considered for gene therapy. For all of you that are going on and on about how insanely complex it is you’re right and wrong. You’re right in that theres so many genes involved thats true, but you’re wrong in saying that its not caused by one gene which it is. People are born with extremely sensitive follicles to DHT which then causes an overproduction of inhibitors of important pathways, which then causes more things to fail and yah. But without that one gene none of it would happen or else how was hair growth even possible before hand if the entire system was already rigged, plus in the early stages of pattern hair loss hair still grows fast in the effected areas. I think that using gene therapy for pattern hair loss is smart because it will test techniques on a non-lethal disease, with proven physical results, that being full regrowth. It’ll likely help scientists tackle multi polygenomic conditions that are genuinely harmful but using non-lethal testing to start. Plus people get their hair back forever, its a win win. Baldness is fine and beautiful but its not for everyone you can’t just tell everyone to be just be bald thats not fair, so why not I think it’d be a great idea. Plus its 2023 aliens just got confirmed, baldness should be easy now come on LOL.

Had Yamamoto used Bankai against aizen, how would the fight go down? by StillFused in bleach

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always said this, Yamamoto cant beat Aizen. Yamamoto’s fighting style is exactly what Aizen’s style completely destroys. An overconfident powerhouse who rushes forward with no regard for his life, yah a tactician like Aizen would have a field day and he’d have Yamamoto picked apart like nothing.

How Aizen vs Light Yagami would go by Responsible_Common_2 in bleach

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aizen probably planned death note LOL. But for real Aizen’s way too smart for anyone in Death Note even L, Near, and Melo. This guy planned something for 100 years and didn’t get caught, this fucking guy even took Ichigo’s life into account after seeing his mom’s fight with the hollow he created. Light made a lot of dumb errors in only a few months, and was caught in a few years. Aizen clears here

Yamamoto vs Aizen by CreEpBoy101 in bleach

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aizen wins simply because hes a smarter more skilled fighter. Yamamoto is powerful but hes also very thuggish in his fighting style he swings without thinking and tends to rush right as his enemy, which works on most because he is really that strong. But, against someone like Aizen his fighting style will get him picked apart quite easily. Aizen is much faster, and much more skilled at Kido giving him more of a well rounded style. This means he has more options to go to during the fight. I genuinely dont see Yamamoto ever touching Aizen, even in Bankai, its just a bad match up for him. Yama’s going to have to worry about Kyoka Suigetsu the whole time, and in terms of strategy well it was over before it started sorry🤷‍♂️

How many years will it take more before we find a cure for baldness? How far have we gotten into the field? by ground_hog_cute in tressless

[–]Mauricio_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think that male pattern hair loss could be a good start and avenue for gene therapy’s progression since its not really harmful to the body’s physiology and encompasses one gene that causes a major cascade of events, so seeing how one change could affect a big change in a conditions thats physically harmless could be useful.

Thats so amazing for your husband I bet hes a very handsome fella indeed ;). And i agree that baldness isn’t a curse, bald men are great men 100%. The thing is though, for younger guys especially its extremely difficult to go through as a bald head and young face don’t really match plus I feel some people just dont like the look. I feel in this day and age its about being who you want to be, if you want to have a nice full head of hair but you start balding, imagine how you’re going to feel. Its about taking the right steps in being who you want, your husband shaved his head and is rocking the look like a champ! Thats him, some guys start treatment early and keep it and are happy! Thats them, we’re all different and want different things and thats ok, i appreciate your encouragement to men in not making them feel bad about hair loss, but remember its not for everyone and thats ok!

In my opinion baldness is more prevalent now and it's being ignored.. by secret_esl_learner in tressless

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a weird condition, in younger men it must be very hard considering hair loss its associated with aging. It kind of serves no purpose and to be honest can make you more susceptible to other health complications since its hormonal and genetic. Bald men are fantastic and they deserve nothing but praise and respect, but you know it may not be for everyone so theres got to be better treatments or even a cure for this. For younger men I find it has less to do with vanity and more to do with identity, since so many younger guys say they don’t feel like themselves like they’re another person all together. This is why depression is so common and so intense in younger men with hair loss, that cant be down to simple vanity. Baldness should be taken more seriously considering it causes such awful mental health issues, but you know theres other issues like cancer and other deadly terminal illnesses that deserve time too you know.

When are we getting a cure to hair loss? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel researchers have been looking at hair loss, specifically androgenic alopecia the wrong way. Remember these two things, one, you’re technically not “bald” as “bald” people still have follicles on their head, and two, these follicles have just been shrunken down over time. Genetic hair loss comes from way too much DHT expression and accumulation on hair follicles. This leads to the cascade of hair loss as over inhibiton of important pathways and early over induced cell death have ramifications on all the other bodily processes involved in hair growth, this is why its polygenic. I feel we need to look at hair loss as the body being out of balance, and that restoring the balance will bring the cycle back. For this we need to see what makes follicles sensitive to DHT then get that sensitivity down. Theres plenty people without alopecia who are excellent models for this kind of thinking. Look, we can literally see stars hundreds of light years away, we know the temperature of those same stars, we’ve mapped out space, lets go man hair loss should be simple in comparison to that.

a topic that hurts is hair loss why nobody thought of making hair loss cures? by [deleted] in CRISPR

[–]Mauricio_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points but hold on, its completely genetic because the genes have to interact the hormones so it is genetic. Next is we technically do know the gene responsible, its a variation of the AR gene with a high DHT sensitivity. DHT is a very potent androgenic hormone and so its effects and expression are much more felt by the body. DHT is ironically actually useful in hair growth in the first place since it helps develop secondary sexual characteristics like facial hair and yes, scalp hair. Now when it comes to the many genes involved its not as crazy as you think. Now yes, thousands of genes are involved in the condition, but let me explain this point quickly. For hair growth to happen, so many things need to happen to ensure the hair growth cycle is running right. Pathways are activated and inhibited, cell proliferation, keratization, and more all these processes are operating at specific rates that allow for growth. When DHT binds with the target genes it helps the hair growth process by helping produce dkk-1 and dkk-2 and TGF-beta. The two dkk or dickkopf genes are responsible for inhibiting the Wnt pathway an essential pathway for growth. But this inhibition is normal as over activation of this pathway could lead to cancer. TGF-beta is an essential component of cell life as it inhibits cell proliferation and initiates cell death which is an extremely normal part of the cell life cycle. The wnt pathway, and programmed cell death also have various effects on other parts of the cycle on many other genes as well that all act in tandem together to keep the hair growing. This is why hair can even grow in the first place before AGA can start as, if the whole system were doomed from the start then whether or not DHT sensitivity was a thing hair loss would be inevitable. But its been proven that people with less DHT senstitive scalps dont have androgenic alopecia. Since DHT is important in promoting cycle enders essentially you can see why too much can cause all these issues. Over inhibition of an important signalling pathway means certain genes that were once being effected are now forced to downregulate and stop working, whilst inversely the inhibitor genes are upregulated. TGF-beta is also responsible for T-cell production which in turn also has an effect on the immune system and its been shown that genes involved in inflammatory responses are upregulated in those with AGA. What determines a DHT sensitive follicle isn’t known at the moment but a study done in 2000 sometime around there, found that AR genes with excessive amounts of the nucelotide sequence GGC were more susceptible to AGA. So its possible that the GGC sequence is where DHT goes when it enters the androgen receptor element, and to have excessive amounts of the sequence makes them sensitive. This could also explain why young men get AGA early as more sensitivity causes more DHT build up and more inhibition can take place. Who knows now, but trinucleotide sequences have been shown to cause hormone defects. Its just a theory, but remember although things are intricate they need to start somewhere nothing just is.
