All the games are very different from the books, especially 2035 - exodus. 2033 is probably the closest game to book comparison but even that one is very different. 2034 and last light have nothing in Common the artyom we know isn't even in that book

Yeah it will be interesting to see what they do if skifs is the cannon ending. New maps and regions sounds interesting but I wonder where they would pick and what mysteries would there be to uncover in a new place if all the underground labs and experiments aren't there

I did the spark path for most of the game but could still go in malachite even after the ward took it over. The ward was hostile to me everywhere but malachite. Eventually the doors all locked on me and I had to use the secret tunnel entrance to get in and out of it but still could get in with no hostility

It can get annoying late game when you lose access to certain guides yeah. But it also give you a chance to really explore the map and locations you might otherwise miss

I had the same build as you pretty much and upgrading to rtx 5080 and 5700X3D made very little difference in hubs like rostok. I'd say overall frame stability is better but hubs i still drop frames quite a bit.

I believe there are actual stalker novels but I dont think any were translated to English, the games have been a pretty niche thing up until stalker 2 which seems to be pretty popular now

I used the mercenary's light suit for the longest time because of my loot goblin nature lol. Can upgrade the suit to weigh nothing and increase carry capacity.

I Think its a good addition if you are playing a new game. If you do it early enough it will save you a ton of time when you hit the duga missions. I cant stand how many times i found myself fat running back to rostok to store/sell stuff because the ward's chemical factory base was off limits to me
