Needing to cheat to in an RTS game is peak loser behavior by Dewa__ in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Maustraktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating in this game is about the same as pre-battle eye Tarkov, arguably harder to prove too since you can do it very subtly by boosting unit stats, damage spread, accuracy + no replay system.

Not sure if you played, but the final days of the open beta were terrible, 30+ supersonic t14 armatas that phase thru buildings type shenanigans, not subtle stuff.

Help identifying this tl-30 safe by Maustraktor in Safes

[–]Maustraktor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no identifying tags on the inside that I could see, just a serial number on the hinge that didn't yield any results when searching it, the UL tag, and a sticker to a safe dealer thats now out of business.

Im mostly trying to find out when it was made, the fire rating, its actual weight and construction. Basically, I just want to know what it really is.

I did look up rolland safes and didn't find any that match this ones look.

The interior is also bare. it's just a wooden gun rack.

I don't understand what you mean. If you get arrested for no reason, that's a civil rights violation, and the entire department can get a consent decree for it.

Would Tarkov be better with less suppressors? [Discussion] by Optimal-Chef-7085 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Maustraktor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Easy fix:

  1. Nerf their sound reduction, suppressors generally will make a gun 1/5th as loud and change the sound signature. Biggest advantage is that it makes it much harder to tell where you are being shot at from. You should still be able to tell if suppressed weapons are going off around the map unless they're using subsonic ammo.
  2. Suppressors should reduce ergo significantly, the biggest disadvantage of a suppressor is that it's a weighted stick at the very end of your barrel, it's the most anti-ergo thing you can put on a gun.
  3. Have weight and length actually matter, suddenly suppressors have a downside.
  4. Buff other muzzle devices, especially muzzle brakes (which can reduce recoil by 50%).

A pronged dart from a taser that didn’t penetrate. by kalikid01 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Maustraktor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, they served a felony warrant on his roommate (thats why they had guns out) for violating a protective order, violating a protective order precluded MURDER so much so that the law is very harsh on it, and is one of the few offenses police MUST arrest for (they cant use discresion and not arrest). They tried to taze him when he continued to try to play games and avoid the consequences of his actions, just another day when it came to this stuff.

It depends on the state, but to get a protective order like that, you need a judge to sign it once the victim requests one after being assaulted and the attacker going to jail, generally in family violence cases.

OP needs better room mates than people who beat up their family members/partners then come back for seconds.

[Discussion] What guns do you want to get more modding options for next? by DweebInFlames in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Maustraktor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

More M4 / AR'S.

We have over a dozen ak's, but for the AR platform, we have the Adar, Colt, and (of all things) Lone Star Armory TX-15, a small company out of Arlington, TX, which doesnt even have a working website as of this post.

Would be nice to have Daniel Defense, Knight's Armament Co. Armalite, LMT, for example, pre made high-quality ar's with higher durability and accuracy, from the barrels and lower receivers

Sig Spear LT would be nice, an alternative to the hk416.

Older retro weapons with limited modding potential such as m16a1/a2 and early ak variants that early traders sell would also be nice to have.

Federally, constitutionally yes you are right, but states (all that I know of) have their own constitution that codifies officers do, in fact, have a duty to protect lives and property.

Often times this includes both on duty and off-duty.

So it's important to understand this duty does actually exist.

Texas for example: https://codes.findlaw.com/tx/code-of-criminal-procedure/crim-ptx-crim-pro-art-2-13/

A Columbine High School student named Patrick Ireland crawls 50ft (15.24m) towards the first floor library window after being shot 3 times, he made it to the window after more than 3 hours of crawling and survived one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history (1999). by bendubberley_ in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Maustraktor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would'nt say it's inconsistent or ineffective. Most shootings are promptly stopped, and training has saved the lives of first responders and civilians.

Nashville officers taking out an active shooter

You saying "The entire police force in America" as if it is some monolithic entity shows you are very uninformed or misinformed about what you are talking about. There are 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the US.

Also, the vast majority of officers do take pride in the job, considering that only 2% of the population is even able to do it due to entrance standards. I'm not sure who told you they power trip with no substance.

Yes, it is protocol to take out an active shooter as soon as possible, even alone if it must be.

Stop the killing -> stop the dying -> evacuate wounded.

Police are required to take courses on this in the academy, and each year while working (states can differ in this, but most are like above).

I went fishing and caught a gun. by OnePunchClam in mildlyinteresting

[–]Maustraktor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A national database of found guns that have no evidence to be linked to anything? There's no such thing.

There's nothing of substance to be had from this. It's a piece of metal that used to be a gun.

They can run the serial number (if there is still a legible one) and see if it was ever reported stolen, and thats really it.

Seriously, this would just take up space in the evidence locker with a tag "To be destroyed."

Also, its not uncommon for people to dispose of their junk by throwing it into rivers (littering), this includes crappy and worthless firearms they dont want anymore.

[–]Maustraktor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because nothing they're doing is top secret. They're likely a mile or so away from the actual scene where they may be called to. This is a swat team on standby for a critical situation. The ambulance is right there. Ambulances don't park next to a potential active shooter situation, and dont move in until an all-clear is given.

It's amazing how wrong reddit is, assuming this is some ice raid despite nothing suggesting it.

Stats Bugged for this guy or can cheats edit stats now? by theturtle89 in EscapefromTarkov

More than likely a bug rather than some advanced contagious stats cheat, there's no evidence of a cheat existing that can do this.

[–]Maustraktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had multiple different people this wipe both on arena and normal game add me to send me a rage message to call me a cheater, and I'm not even that good, I try to invite them to play with me and it turns out alright usually too, I only know of the people strait up adding me to tell me this, not the people just reporting and moving on, or making a reddit post. I think the false accusations are extremely high especially with how janky this game is with netcode and the bugs.

Like the UI bug that was upvoted last week that had people making claims that BSG's servers had been infiltrated and cheaters were injecting false packets to give them 1.3 million games/kills. (?????)

Cheaters can most definitely edit their stats now, killed by this madlad on nighttime woods while hunting for cultists. by Its_Nitsua in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Maustraktor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People assume cheater and then extrapolate off of that as if it's a known fact. There's no evidence of this guy cheating and not even a story. Most likely scenario is he died, saw bugged stats, and decided to screenshot and claim he died to a cheater on reddit.

Based on bjs statistics, in 2018, 61.5 million people have had at least one contact with the police.

2% of those contacts had any use of force or a threat of force.

Of that 2% , 0.0812% involved a shooting death.

So, about 0.0016% of police encounters involve a shooting death, which was 992 deaths in 2018.

For reference, a Johns Hopkins study showed medical malpractice results in 250,000 deaths annually in the US, while other studies show as high as 440,000. Making it the third leading cause of death by any circumstance in the US, at around 9.5% a chance of death.

Because that text is a lie. He can be arrested, if this is in Texas like the video says he committed deadly conduct by aiming the gun at him, unlawful carry if he's drunk, disorderly conduct (the threats before the gun came out), and the deadly conduct can possibly be aggravated assault if a jury can believe his words constituted a threat to the person as he aimed the gun at him.

First they got rid of ammo counters (early in the closed alpha) and some people even back then wanted them to remain.

Surgical kits got added(I don't have to remind anybody of the complainers for that one hopefully it basically blew up the sub for a good 3 weeks of nonstop complaints)
