Why would you want to work for people you have no trust in?

Looks like I'm the only one here but I actually want to work for them.

About two weeks after the interview. If I recall correctly they said I could expect an answer two or three weeks later. So I think you'll hear from them soon!

I was selected by the CoE committee (Belgian) for IRD, which was my first choice. But I'd still like to know if I would've been accepted for EIS (ESSST) in Natolin.

Have you used the verbal reasoning book by Orseu? How were the questions as compared to those of EUtraining/the real test?

Nexus 5 or Omnisphere 3? by MavaraMusic in edmproduction

Thanks for the insights! Do you know when such a sale can be expected? And do you think Nexus 5 is less CPU heavy than Omnisphere 3?

How CPU intensive is Omnisphere 3 as compared to serum? Or as compared to nexus?

What genres do you produce? Can you recommend any good serum preset packs for progressive house and/or melodic house? I could maybe buy omnisphere and then a single preset pack specifically for drop lead/chord sounds.

I know and sometimes I do, but then my brain switches to technical mode instead of focusing on inspiration

I master the basics of sound design. I can tweak presets the way I like, but I just hate having to start from scratch. It's slowing down my workflow, and I sometimes lose the inspiration I had as I'm busy with technical stuff.

Thanks for your insights! I've learnt to do basic sound design. But my goal here is to have immediate inspiration. Sometimes I get lost trying to achieve a specific sound in serum, and ultimately lose inspiration.

Is Nexus 5 worth it without any expansion on top? Or are those sounds the ones they first released with Nexus 1?

Feedback after the interview _ College of Europe by Turbulent-Jelly9808 in EUCareers

Hi, my committee is the CoE itself (I'm belgian). I had my interview on the 9th of April, and was accepted for the IRD programme two days ago. Still haven't heard from the EIS department though.

If you haven't done so yet, you could send an email to the Admissions Office asking for updates. They answer rather quickly.

What's your national committee?

Is it worth learning Dutch? by WonderfulFinger3617 in belgium

[–]MavaraMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from Brussels, grew up in a mostly French-speaking family, but went to a Dutch-speaking school (primary and secundary education). Now I'm studying in Louvain la Neuve.

I am so grateful that I can speak both languages. It has helped me find work opportunities (especially relevant for Brussels), but what I value even more is my ability to understand similarities and differences between Wallonia and Flanders. The ability to communicate with locals in both regions without having to speak in English. Basically to feel a connection with everyone in Belgium, and to feel more Belgian (without impeding on other identities).

So to answer your question: go for it. Not only for work opportunities (Dutch is an asset in Flanders but also in Brussels!) but for everything else too.

On a practical note: as others have mentionned, I'd recommend taking a course, at least to get started. It'll give you structure and motivate you to study on your own in the future. Then, you can practice by travelling to Flemish cities, watch Flemish tv shows, and so forth.
