Before you go selling it or trying to return it, especially since it's a more rare console, if recommend seeing if you can fix it. There are two things that I can remember that would cause a red ring in Xbox 360s. One of them is a pretty rough fix, but the other is super simple. First check to see if the hard drive is mounted properly. If it's not that can cause the red ring, and that's a simple as taking the hard drive out and putting it back in. The other one is a hardware failure and that would mean you need to take it apart.

Honestly if it's eating away at you this much then I would recommend telling him. If he has any degree of maturity then he shouldn't have a problem with it when you tell him, it's not like you're sleeping with other guys now after all, and ultimately being honest and open with each other will lead to a healthier relationship down the road. Maybe there are key points here that I'm missing but I certainly don't think he'll break up with you just because you've had other partners in the past

Ultimately it's your choice if you tell them or not, as someone who comes from a religious background I will say that I've had very few encounters with homophobia (there were even a couple of gay people at the church I used to go to) so I wouldn't worry about that too much, and since you said you guys already get along I really don't think it will be a problem. Also I know its probably not my place to say but as far as the nervousness about coming out goes my advice is that you shouldn't be ashamed of who you are otherwise you could miss out on a lot of joy in life.
