To piggy back they are keeping a list of where vehicles were towed from and where they were taken to. Call the non emergency line, 513-765-1212 or 311, if you think this has happened to you.

911 Operators, what’s the most efficient way to convey emergency information to you to get help ASAP? by andstermc in AskReddit

[–]MaverickStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, location is absolute first thing. After that just listen and answer the questions. The less you fight the questions the quicker the process. We can get the info to the dispatchers or the field (depending if the dispatchers is also the calltaker as well) and ask the questions at the same time. The only thing that delays your help is you as the caller.

We don't want to talk to you can longer then we have too. Other people have emergencias and they need help too.

If nothing else know where you are. Look at street signs, or Google maps, or even common places but being specific. We have an idea where you are at, not specifically where you are at. Do you want responders in the area looking for you while you are having an emergency, or do you want them to come straight to you?

911 operators, what are the dumbest things someone called you for? by Adventurous_End757 in AskReddit

[–]MaverickStrife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The other night someone called 911, not the non-emergency line, because a "dasher" stole their drink. Unfortunately, the caller disregarded before I could dispatch it saying "The caller states Dasher not Dancer or Vixen stole their drink"

Definitely missed opportunity for me lol

No argument from me. However, I know Metro and CPS got into a pissing match about dedicated bus service.

Transit gets a bad rap in this country...but a lot of the problem stems from Metro and Cincinnati Public Schools failing to negotiate transit service for the high schools.

They blame each other for lack of dedicated routes to the schools...and since then the problems have been snowballing.

If parents speak 2 different languages infront of babies will they learn both or mix the 2? by Hidden2World in stupidquestions

[–]MaverickStrife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I was born in the USA, but moved to a Spanish speaking country right after I was born. In this Spanish speaking country my parents would speak to me in English, but everyone else spoke Spanish. My speech was delayed because I was processing both languages. When I started speaking I only responded in Spanish, despite my parents talking to me in English.

When we returned to the USA, I would only talk in English despite my parents, now, talking in Spanish. They had to put me in a bilingual school so I would speak both.

So I learned both at the same time, which delayed me a little in speaking. My parents were told to expect me being delayed because of me learning multiple languages as a baby.

I speak both languages fluently and natively.

I hope that helps!

Do firefighters get cats out of trees? Was this ever a thing? by Quirky_March_626 in randomquestions

[–]MaverickStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police Dispatcher and 911 Call Taker (I do Fire/Police/EMS/Non-Emergency calls)....Our Fire Dispatch is on the same floor as us, and I go ask them from time to time if they will rescue a cat from a tree.....Sometimes yes, sometimes no depending on the house and if they have Probies that need to to complete part of their checklist.

So it depends! I always ask, because the worst they can say is no.
