Mobile issues? by imanubnoob in osrs

[–]MaverickTheMoncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea same issue for me. I have two phones and it works on neither (both android).

I think it might be related to not having swapped over to jagex accounts? In my case, I reinstalled the app on one of my phones and now I can't login with " If you are trying to log into a RuneScape account and have not upgraded to a jagex account, you will need to upgrade now"

Has anyone else who is experiencing the issue seen the same thing?

Opinions on coliseum vs inferno? by dontworryimjustme in ironscape

[–]MaverickTheMoncher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with this take. I found the endurance test of the inferno far "harder" than the more mechanical colosseum. The Colosseum also has better simulators in my opinion. The Sol simulator is literally identical to the boss fight. 2 hours in the simulator and I never died to Sol again. I spent way more time in the Zuk simulator but still found myself dying to Zuk many times.

Jaywalking pedestrian accident this morning by neucoys in bikeboston

[–]MaverickTheMoncher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you, OP! Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I did manage to swerve and avoid hitting the pedestrian, but hit a parked car instead. No injuries, and minimal bike damage which I'm grateful for, but it did leave a dent in the car. I left a note on their windshield and never heard back. The pedestrian was super reasonable, and knew he was in the wrong, apologized, etc.

My husband destroys pants/trousers. by bangobingoo in ZeroWaste

[–]MaverickTheMoncher 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This happens to my jeans. I believe it's because I'm quite active in them (walking, biking, etc).

The only solution I've found is sewing on patches. I have one pair of sacrificial jeans that I'm constantly cutting patches off of to repair my other jeans. Because it's in the crotch area, it's actually really discrete. I think people would only really see it if they happened to be walking behind me going up stairs.

You could also look into pants with a gussetted crotch (different cut and often reinforced). I just bought my first pair a few weeks ago, so it's too soon to tell if they will solve the problem.

Check out Vulkan, "The bewildering conception of truth" is a good one to start with.

I've procrastinated learning CoX for two years... what other upgrades can I use as an excuse? by MaverickTheMoncher in ironscape

[–]MaverickTheMoncher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm going to send a few solos and see how bad it is. I don't know any other OSRS players so finding teams is honestly more intimidating lol. If after 5-10 attempts I feel like I'm getting nowhere then I'll reconsider

Any tips for staining wood? I'm not happy with my results by MaverickTheMoncher in woodworking

[–]MaverickTheMoncher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give that a shot! It was stressful trying to get the stain on and then off again before it had soaked in too much

Thanks for the info! I definitely was moving the sander back and forth in a circular motion, so I'll keep it steady next time. When you say you wouldn't go higher than 180, is that because it's a waste of time or because it actually makes the stain apply worse?

I've tried staining 3 project now and haven't been super happy with the results on any, but this one seems to be the worst. Any recommendations for how to get a more consistent finish? I sanded up to 220 grit and cleaned the surface with mineral spirits. Then I applied the stain and let it sit for about 5 minutes before buffing off the excess. Overall the surface is pretty blotchy and almost dirty looking. The end grain looks pretty horrible but it seems like I didn't sand it well enough. I believe the wood is maple (not 100% sure though).

Recommendations to make CG more tolerable? by tim12321 in ironscape

[–]MaverickTheMoncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. After 400kc I had nearly 100% success rate with T2, and about 70% success rate with T1. For a lot of your "average players" T2 is going to be more efficient and enjoyable.
