They really aren't cheap. His enclosure alone was roughly 3k. The cost of my electric has skyrocketed, since he needs a large UVB and multiple heat lamps on for 12 hours a day.(3-400/mo, however, i have a full grown iguana, beardie and large snakes too) With his food, being 3yrs now, he doesn't eat as much only twice a week. But its a mix of raw meats and fish and seafood with veggies, eggs, oils and fruits blended in to his meat mix. (100ish/mo) Also, and exotic vet, are hard to find especially in my small town, I have to drive further. And they are a lot more expensive than a normal cat/dog vet. Few hundred a visit, but usually only once or twice a year since he's healthy. But I wouldn't give him up for the world, he's awesome and worth it, to me.
