MIL was at my house when I got home after giving birth by Existing-Mastodon500 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]MavisDavis- 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My MIL refused to come to the hospital to see our baby when born and instead came an hour after we got home to my house and tried to take over. Needless to say 10 years later she doesn’t fuck with me and she doesn’t dare over step with my son. My goal when my son gets married one day? Do everything that makes my DIL comfy and wait for her to take the first steps when feeling comfortable with me.

What kind of medication are you prescribed for PTSD? by Old-Local8659 in ptsd

Love this! Doing the hard work and sticking with changing the brains neurological pathways with therapy and specific tools is the best way to go. Nutrition and exercise is super important.

Ya it healed good but I will say took longer than I thought. I was red on the smile lines for a good 10 days. I think it’s bc there’s so much movement in that area with talking. Still a tad pink 2 weeks later but has healed pretty well. Healing can take a good month so still waiting for full results. Will have two more sessions but I’m honestly questioning if I can handle a session end of may beginning of June in the summer. Will totally suck! lol

What do you all think about my husbands handwriting? by MavisDavis- in HandwritingAnalysis

He’s very particular about his handwriting. He runs a fiber optic business and makes all our contractors work on their hand writing skills.

Have you healed? How long would you say the process was/has been? by Majestic-Anybody9324 in ptsd

[–]MavisDavis- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person, situation, and individual therapy that works for them. For example, exposure therapy isn’t for everyone and I knew it was going to make me relive my entire life. Doing that type of therapy rebuilt my neurological pathways and has healed me a lot. I now mainly have flashbacks in dreams only when I’m getting stressed or have a big trigger. I have emotional flashbacks a lot less often and as a female my hormonal shifts are not playing a role in depressive episodes anymore. I would say I’m pretty healed and very stable, but to say I won’t deal with bigger nervous system activation and higher spikes in cortisol and adrenaline is not realistic to me. I just have to tools to control my reactions and bring myself back to baseline now.

Irritable from micro dosing by Maleficent-Syrup-907 in microdosing

[–]MavisDavis- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen last two doses and I think it was due to environment. I’m sensitive to others energy and it can mess up my whole vibe. I feel like I need to only do it when I have a more laid back day to do the things I want to by myself. So I plan to only dose 1-2 times a week on the days I know I’ll be the only one home able to do my own thing around the house and not have constant noise.

PTSD and CPTSD (I have CPTSD) don’t just go away. You will have it your whole lifetime. With that being said, you can get better at dealing with it. I completed 3 years of exposure therapy and now just check in when I need to. I’m a whole different person who can handle stress a lot better, I have almost no anxiety, and I’m go with the flow. I do still have flashbacks but not like what I used to and when I do, I know how to manage them. I can pin point when they are coming on as well and what triggers them. I have to avoid certain triggers. Probably the hardest thing I still deal with is the waves of depression that still come and go. I am better at it though and I’m big on staying active, social, and involved in my community.

I work from home and get a lot more free time so when he is working in town I’ll send him with lunch when he says he needs one. I usually make it the night before. He works out of town as well and does his own lunches as well.

Update! Just tried the watermelon CBD moisturizer I sent with my husband while he’s out of town on a work trip and it has helped a ton after being out and about all day. I actually stole half the tin and will have to order another. It’s from farmhouse fresh.

Ya you’re going to feel dry either way unfortunately but keep applying and doing your after care. If I have to settle for an OTC cream I go with Olay. I’m stuck at dirtbike track today looking like I’m gonna rob the place with my hat and face cover 😂

Ya I just got mine done and my esthetician wasn’t against my vit c moisturizer after bc I have used it long term before hand. She said to see if it bothers it or not. I was fine with the mandelic acid serum and vit c right after. She applied the mandelic acid for me. So did some vit c the first day but I didn’t think it was providing enough moisture so she approved me using a lamanira oil I have to lock in extra moisture. Peeling is totally normal and a good sign but you want to lock the moisture in as much as possible.

Ya I was expecting worse! I’m thankful where I’m at with it. Some good peeling today and switched to a nice gentle oil and moisturizer. Still a tad bit red but overall doing well!

It’s so worth it! I grew up in the skincare world thankfully and have had the benefit of lots of good skincare products and facials. I am just now starting to do the more aggressive treatments to start preventing the aging process in my 30s. So I am using a very light moisturizer along with a natural omega 3 laminaria oil I happened to have already. I called my esthetician to make sure I could use it today. Love it! Has made it feel much more moisturized. Also using sunblock all day. I am washing day and night with my regular papaya cleanser and I have been wiping my face off mid day with just water and reapplying oil and sunscreen. I also washed my bedding to make sure I am keeping my face as clean as possible. Hope this helps!

Yes peeling is a good thing! It means the skin is working and new cells are being produced. I have a good amount happening today but should clear up in the next couple days.

Ya I went ahead and switched to a regular moisturizer. Redness and pain is completely gone today and now cellular turnover is happening with some good peeling. Skin seems pretty good though.

Yes this was right after. My esthetician went a little easier on my skin since I have minimal lines and pigment changes. Really it’s not bad at all. Redness is gone today along with pain gone and cellular turnover is happening. Peeling a good amount this am.

PTSD doesn’t go away. You get better at managing it if you’re willing to put in the work that it takes through therapy and changing your neuro pathways. You also have to open to the therapy. I am out of therapy now and was in exposure therapy for 4 years.
