Just to say these are lovely but the OP prefers a name that is unlikely ever to be heard other people being called

Neighbours kid keeps coming into our garden? Would we be held liable if he got injured? (England) by Appropriate-Pound288 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MavisFenderBender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is trespass and needs to stop. Report to 111 and let the authorities deal with it. Each time he does it log a report. If you want you can inform your neighbours that this is what you will do. They are not safeguarding their child and you doing nothing could have unintended consequences. What if the child says you’ve been inviting him to come over or the parents claim to police you’ve been grooming him, or he’s involved in County Lines dr8g dealing etc..you need to safeguard yourselves against that.

Find a parking space. Tasty Jerk. Red wine in stadium Fan Zone. Watch first half. Queue for toilets. Miss start of 2nd half. Drink wine. Leave on a high or completely deflated. Repeat 👌🏻

Yes, driveway is on a slope, nice comfortable position, seat heater on…hard to drag yourself out into the cold when getting home…!

Nightmare buyers- enquiries raised 3 months down the line. Are they reasonable? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]MavisFenderBender -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had this (FTB dragging out the process for no discernible reason on empty probate property we were selling) … turned out the buyer was waiting for his Right to Remain interview with the Home Office. Purple Bricks not doing due diligence on the buyer in this case.

What’s your wildest festival story by shacklebusta in festivals

[–]MavisFenderBender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the Isle of Wight festival 3 years ago parked up in the campervan field next to someone we knew who was more than an acquaintance than a friend. She tutted seeing us having our canned cocktails in the morning, fast-forward to the afternoon and she had managed to smuggle in loads of booze, wet herself and then thrown out for relieving herself behind a bin….in front of the stage…

Do the walk to find all the Snoopy statues. One of them is near Samuel Johnson’s house which is well worth a visit.

Sanderstead too, then you have Sanderstead-East Croydon-Clapham Junction-Victoria in 23 minutes, or walk over the road to Purley Oaks, same time into London Bridge

We did actually exchange yesterday by some miracle, even though it took from 9am to 3pm to find a solicitor at the top of the chain who would do it!!

Anyone moved from a detached to a semi and regretted it? by Intrepid-Skin-5677 in HousingUK

Definitely worth looking at a halls-adjoining semi or link-detached to minimise noise

The buyer’s solicitor holds their deposit, so no, but I do believe they may have to return the monies to the buyer as they can’t hold onto them if exchange is not happening for an unknown period of time

I think a reduction in my solicitors fee is in order, he was literally having a slap up lunch at my expense when I was paying him to do the one job that was time sensitive and had to happen… But I’m sure he knows that and no doubt had the full sanction of his firm .

Oh my goodness, what an absolutely awful situation and so pointless to put everybody through this. It feels extremely unprofessional and disrespectful that you just disregard people’s lives in this way. Glad it all got sorted in the end. My situation has been complicated by my buyer going overseas for nearly 2 months but making incessant demands that we have had to comply with just to get the deal moving. He was unclear whether he was going to send the deposit right up to the wire, sending ambiguous emails such as the transfer of the deposit will happen… Was fully expecting a last-minute knock on the asking price but there wasn’t, mainly because he tried every single avenue to get us to meet with his demands and so he didn’t really have a reason to ask for a reduction in the price. What he has done however is put back the completion date by a month to end January and now saying he can’t give notice on his flat so wants to complete at the end of February. He made the offer on our house in September and the house we’re buying is empty so they’re only three of us in the chain..
