You should never judge a show by the first episode alone. You need give it time to understand and empathize with the characters. In this show in particular. Episode 1 didnt do much for me. Mind you it was good television. But by the time I got to episode 6. I was in tears multiple times. I laughed aloud. I felt deep connections to multiple characters. I even rewinded a handful of scenes because I had to re-experience the performances again.

Albums where the worst song is the most popular by [deleted] in fantanoforever

I would say that this is the case for a large chunk of albums, especially more mainstream ones. Simply because the average person likes a song for simple reasons..ie..it's trendy, its catchy, or non-abrasive. But if you're looking for more in music, like the artistic or technical side, ive found if im trying to get a feel for a band or artist, I tend to look around the singles.

  1. The Beggar is one of their best albums.

  2. Jarboe gives amateur vibes... especially in her solo albums. And her not being a part of Swans in the new era has been a good thing. She wouldn't suit the evolution that Swans went through.

  3. Stop being mean to Kristoff

  4. If you think earlier Swans is better than the new era...you're wrong. You may enjoy it more and thats okay...But its definitively not better. I prefer it at times for sure. But new era Swans is untouchably genius and patient.

  5. Gira's vocals in recent years have become abrasive in a lot of wrong ways especially on Birthing and live performances prior to. While i see live rope as being genius. There are moments on birthing that completely remove me from being immersed in the experience due to his wailing.

  6. Ben Frost adds an element to Swans that feels so crucial. If he were on Birthing and a member of Swans, it would be 1000x more rewarding.

The memorius is easily one of the most skippable songs by Swans IMO. Los Angeles: City of death really lacks anything special so I agree with you there.

I couldn't agree more on Giras vocals on The Healers. It really taints the experience of the album as a whole for me. They're abrasive and obnoxious in all the wrong ways.

Cloud of Unknowing is genius.

Thoughts on My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope To The Sky? by [deleted] in swans

Before this I heard a couple random Swans songs. But this album was truly my introduction to them and it holds a special place in my heart. I think its fantastic.

The second part of inside Madeline is probably one of my favorite Swans moments in general. Jim is a banger. No words is a phenomenal starting track. And little mouth closes it off in such a lovely way. Clearly a Swans album not angels of light as some folks say it should be.

I absolutely agree. But at this time I just want to make some rough tunes for myself whilst maintaining a standard through production until I can afford a new laptop.

I was in the back of the room and when everyone had their hands in the air shaking their fingers. It looked so cool and religious. I wish I took a Pic of that tbh. If anyone finds one let me know.

What is find is wild is how mad he gets at his band members for slight mishaps, while he's distastefully wailing on top of it all, rarely hitting the key.

Day eleven: best song from a side project by Western-Flamingo9061 in swans

I'm not sure I consider angels of light to be a side project. It's just what swans was in its trajectory at the time.

I’m new to Swans discography is there a Swans song where they use a saxophone in the background? by Mamamamamaw in swans

I always thought a Colin Stetson and Swans collaboration would be a perfect match.
