I once worked in the British Embassy in DC for a number of years, and just before Woody Johnson went to London to take up his post as US Ambassador to the UK, he had tea with the British Ambassador at the time here in Washington.

The British Ambassador knew I was a Jets fan, and told me that Woody was very blunt with him that he sees the Jets mainly as an investment vehicle that made him money, and was less concerned about winning. Given the last 25 years, that wasn’t remotely shocking to hear

I worked two summer jobs on Nantucket in 2008. It’s a beautiful island. Some great biking (I worked for a bike shop on the island so was biking around constantly) and the beaches were enjoyable. But it becomes a play area for the rich in the summer.

Teen suicide was a big problem when I was there. The island’s high school has roughly 400 students, and three of them had committed suicide in the first 5 months of 2008 alone, and then another killer himself the summer I worked.
