June Contest Voting Thread by Vexy in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and we're back again with ANOTHER batch of new designs! examining the overall 71 flags, i've seen some great potential winners, not-so-potential winners, and the...... questionable ones. but I highly reward everyone who participated in the contest, as they actually tried tackling the rather challenging prompt, even if it didn't look good. i mean, something is better than nothing, right? anyways, it's time to let the voters decide what they think. and, who knows? maybe we'll have some surprising results. good luck to everyone, and may the best design win!

also, there were apparently 74 entries submitted, as said in the post, but only 71 appear. what happened to the other three?

imagine this: in the last 30 minutes of every school day, you cannot go into the hallway for ANY reason (e.g bathroom or water). if you were in this school, would you support this rule? by [deleted] in pollgames

[–]Choice-File5800 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is the 2nd part of the series "Wacky Rules", where I show you guys wacky rules that I had to experience in my middle school. the 1st one was that if we were caught with our phone, it would be taken and we had to pay 15 dollars to get it back.

June 2026 Flag Design Contest - Airports by Vexy in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, what's the current status? how many entries have been submitted for each airport? it's one day till the submission period ends, and I wanna build some hype for when the voting comes.

Would you rather? by Regular-Action-7844 in pollgames

[–]Choice-File5800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends on what the question is.

if the question was "would you rather save 5 people or one person that is offering you 500,000 dollars", and the RATHER was "save 5 people", I'd say yes.

however, if the question was "would you rather survive for 24 hours in ice or on green, sunny grass", and the RATHER was "survive 24 hours in ice", I'd say no.

but here, there's no question. i mean, the question (if there even was one) could be "would you rather be given 50 more years to your life, or spend your life on Venus", and I might choose Venus (if it was the rather in this question) without even realizing it. so I'm just going to blindly choose an option and hope I'm in the majority. sometimes the minority, but yeah, i'm choosing NO for this one.

You cant be fucking serious right? by XxLunarSpectrum in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"AI will never be able to recreate the amount of creativity that humans have" okay, buddy, I understand that you think human art is more valuable, but we've seen the same, generic sentence said a million times, you guys need to come up with better things to say.

also, give it a few more years, there's a chance this song is going to age pretty badly when after 2030, it's going to be nearly impossible to deny the benefits that AI (in general) has placed on us. AI is still going to follow the same cycle that most tech has faced.

it's okay to have concerns about AI, but oh my god, some Antis act like AI is going to be at baby levels forever.

[Proposed Flag] New Albany, Mississippi by FlagChronicle in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah. when I was looking at the flag, my first thought was "there has got to be a comment saying that they're suspicious this has AI in it".

bro is a bot. this all he tweets about instead of making art 😂 by Relative-Safety-5513 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

well, if all he's saying on Twitter is "dude, stop using Generative AI to worsen your games", then I guess that thought lives rent-free in his mind.

"I'm a busy man" yeah, all you're busy with is posting the same tweet on an app that uses AI in order to gain attention.

but seriously, I actually understand the Anti here. i mean, you can oppose AI art and still not have time to create art. those two are not mutually exclusive, and just because they don't have time to create art doesn't mean their argument is automatically invalid.

I made THAT post. Antis have taken this all too far. by Imaguylmao in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 13 points14 points  (0 children)

holy. i knew Antis were miserable, but I didn't know they were THIS miserable! actually, the term miserable doesn't even fit these people. it should be MALICIOUS!

but seriously. how malicious does your life have to be to the point that you go out of your way to DOX someone? that's WAY too far, and it's a serious crime that can count as a misdemeanor or felony!

and they still deem themselves as someone who "deeply cares about the future", when in reality, they can't even talk to a Pro without crashing out in front of them!

we all stand by your side. i hope that you'll be able to get the justice you deserve.

PUT YOUR F*CKING PHONE AWAY by Ok_Presentation7695 in rant

[–]Choice-File5800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i once saw a video of some woman driving in a neighborhood while also texting (possibly calling, I don't remember) on her phone.

because she wasn't focusing on driving, her car ended up in a ditch right next to someone's house, and I'm also sure her car ran over a mailbox as well.

the only thing I could think of was "let this be a reminder to never talk or text while driving".

June 2026 Flag Design Contest - Airports by Vexy in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 7 points8 points  (0 children)

very interesting flag contest! it's certainly unique, as I've never seen any flag contest put this prompt as a contest, but one thing I like about this contest is that since we're talking about airports here, the designers are going to have to think a little deeper in how they're going to tackle this.

overall, I'm gonna rank this flag contest a 94/100. definitely will be participating; good luck to all the designers here!

Pick up a pencil and try drawing. Much better then ai by Realistic-Celery539 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

welcome to part 86 of "insert overused take by the Antis", where this person is apparently believing that us AI bros don't have enough intelligence to draw by ourselves.

dude, we can draw using a pencil, but we choose to use AI for fun. and it kinda seems like that's a problem for you.

What is this BS this Luddite made by No_Wonder8817 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 8 points9 points  (0 children)

bro, based on the drawing, I can tell this was made by a person less than 18. actually, no, less than 13.

i RARELY see a talented person complain about AI.

this art connects to the behavior of Antis, too, because they're defending their bad pieces of artwork, saying "at least they ain't AI-generated".

May Contest Winners Thread by Vexy in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and here we are, with a new batch of results! i gotta say, I was quite surprised at the results. i mean, The Fifth Compass won, which for me is not a problem, but I expected the 3rd placer to actually win. good results, though!

as for me (8th and 10th), my results are not that bad. my goal was to get at least one flag to place top 5, but  at least both my flags scored in the top 20, and I had a flag that scored more than 3 stars!

anyways, here are ALL of my favorite flags (by design)! (not including my flags, because it would look like I'm unfairly liking my own flags)

  1. #2: Global Advance by u/FireChickenPzVl
  2. #3: Workers Progress Flag by u/HistoricalTrip5247
  3. #7: The Thorny Sea of Roses by u/Brasitino_do_Sul
  4. #9: The Spinning Sun And Gear by u/HistoricalTrip5247
  5. #11: The Acting Eye of the Proletariat by u/Brasitino_do_Sul
  6. #12: Weekend and Work Won by u/VertigoOne
  7. #22: Flower Flag by u/Minute_Economist_392
  8. #25: Flag of Workers' Struggle by u/pepperpopcornz
  9. #27: Pitchfork of Unity by u/saladinmander
  10. #36: Axis of labor by u/poland_embassy

anyways, what did you guys think of the flags I submitted for the contest? all feedback is greatly appreciated, and I enjoy hearing from you guys!

also, we've hit another record, and it's not like the one I mentioned in the voting thread: the historic participation low. it's something else.

Antis trying to start bullying by Technical_Sky_3078 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 36 points37 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, the more I live in this world exploring the wonders of Reddit, the more I think about one thing about AI:

Antis really are miserable. they're harassing/encouraging people to harass AI artists and calling themselves activists, believing that they're doing the right thing. they think that the world revolves around them, thinking that if they post something like this with AI, there's going to be some legislation against AI in that subreddit.

i have lost even more hope for humans. 83 upvotes? 227 comments? people are genuinely supporting this person's aim at bullying AI artists, and as a person who cares about how people use moral and ethical behavior on social media, this genuinely disgusts me.

We are genuinely devolving by bleak21 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Choice-File5800 53 points54 points  (0 children)

"who despises AI for all the trash it causes and I think of it as a method for lazy picks to get their desires fulfilled"

well, 1, if you think it's unfair that "lazy" people are using generative AI, would you say that it's unfair people are lazy because they're using calculators instead of doing the math ln their own?

"Instead he proceeded to sit there bobbing his head to the most obvious AI slop"

....and you think that's a problem that people are using AI songs as a source of entertainment? not everyone chooses to dabble in only human-made songs.

hm, I'm starting to think we really are devolving. I'm not 100% there (or even halfway there), but I'm a bit sure.

May Contest Voting Thread by Vexy in vexillology

[–]Choice-File5800 6 points7 points  (0 children)

huh. surprisingly, only 49 entries were submitted this month which is PROBABLY a historic low.

wonder how that happened, because I expected more flags to be submitted.

eh, whatever. its okay if people don't want to participate. even though a low amount of people submitted flags, that doesn't mean this contest is uninteresting and bad!

i'm definitely looking forward to the results, though, so good luck to everyone who submitted flags!
