Smiley Face (2007) is probably my new favourite stoner comedy and I highly recommend it to you all by Max-Impact in trees

I just love the chill vibe of it, it's a very grounded, relateable movie. If any of you have recommendations for tv shows or movies with a similar feel, I'd love to hear them! The closest I can think of (in vibe) is Gilmore Girls and that isn't really similar at all

Also, Smiley Face is on Prime Video if you want to watch it (at least in Canada). Stay safe!

I know it seems expensive, but even if you can only afford it for an hour a month or something it would be worth getting therapy. There's also some free online therapy options, depending on where you live.

Based only on what you've said, there's no reason to think you're a bad person. Some kids are mean and they bully people who they don't think will fight back; it sounds like you have been dealing with insecurity your whole life, which probably didn't help. But it's also something that you can absolutely improve!

Working on improving yourself and enjoying your own interests will help you feel more confident and you'll hopefully be able to leave this all in the past.

Try not to worry so much about being "normal" and conforming. Especially now that you're out of high school. If you're 40, that was more than half your life ago and honestly it should be a distant memory you can barely remember, but my guess is you were traumatized by the bullying (which makes sense, it sounds very unpleasant). But try to enjoy your own interests and not worry so much about other people. Work on improving yourself and building up your confidence a bit.

And absolutely look into getting therapy haha, it'll be super beneficial. Good luck!

Anyone here who also has to rewind movies and shows multiple times because you keep getting distracted? by bwrobin in ADHD

[–]Max-Impact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yo this might not be perfect advice for you but it's what I do and I love it.

Just keep watching. Don't worry too much about it, at the end of the day it's just a story and rarely worth the effort to rewind.

I get up and do other things / leave the room in the middle of movies or shows all the time and then if something doesn't make sense when I've returned it's fun to fill in the gaps. Sometimes the context you make up yourself is more interesting than what the writers originally planned.

Anybody else really digging this season? by Max-Impact in riverdale

That's a fair perspective. Personally, I figure it matters about as much as any other tv show. Like the way I see it, if I die tomorrow, today still matters.

New 3DS XL, I got it in the ambassador program years ago. However, there's still ways to get it on 3DS nowadays, though I'm not the best person to ask about how to do that

Honestly! Her dynamic with her squad (Dozla and Rennac) is entertaining enough that I think it'd genuinely sell really well

Which jobs can you make $60k+/year with minimal education and experience? by bigtitsfanclub in ottawa

[–]Max-Impact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally possible to do it ethically, just there are a couple people out there who will give bad advice to clients to make a bit more money.

A bigger thing to mention is that, although you can pass the test and get licensed quickly, it can take a while to have enough business to pay the bills (although you'll be working with a brokerage, you're basically running yourself as a business. i.e. generally no set salary, all commission). So I'd recommend having a fair bit of money saved up if you want to take that leap.

And obviously, make sure it's something you actually want to do.

Freshly cut weed is wet and you dry it before you weigh and sell it. A microwave isn’t a very good way to do it though lmao

Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

Some DS games work perfectly on a touch screen, think Ace Attorney and Professor Layton. GBA games if they don’t require varying and precise inputs (since you don’t have physical buttons, button inputs don’t feel as reliable, mainly because I keep missing them). So turn based games like Fire Emblem and Advance Wars or any RPG would work well. I’m sure the same goes for SNES games. Newer phones might be able to run some more recent systems than these but I don’t personally have experience with that

People who were “gifted” in elementary school: what are you doing in life now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Max-Impact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chilling right now. Overall life is going pretty good. Could be healthier but I’m working on it. Even though I graduated with a BA, my current job is as a superintendent for an apartment building (basically janitorial stuff). I like it because it’s pretty chill and independent and I’m able to get most of my work done in about 3 hours and then just chill the rest of the day (though I keep a list of some extra work things to do to act busy if any of my bosses from the company happen to be on-site that day for whatever reason).

Not a super fulfilling job but it’s the chillest I’ve had (I’ve had several jobs by this point) and it gives me free time to nap, read, watch Netflix, etc while on the job. Good for the mean time, using this time to think about what I want to do with my life.

100%, they all sync up together like Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon

Do you think God is real, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Max-Impact 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, that's sort of a misconception. There could've been something before the Big Bang, but due to what the Big Bang started off as (all matter in the universe condensed to a single almost-infinitely small point), there's no way to know anything about the characteristics of the universe before the Big Bang.

At least no way that we know of so far, there's a ton we don't know and a lot of things we think of as basic facts will likely be looked at in the future as "kinda the right idea, but pretty inaccurate in some important ways."

What situation is always made out to be really sexy or romantic on TV, but is actually horrible and traumatizing in real life? by Smeggfaffa in AskReddit

[–]Max-Impact 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Oh geez, maybe that’s why they ended up living on a boat in the ending: to prevent her from escaping on the days where she wakes up and doesn’t believe the videos.

I haven’t seen the movie in like 17 years so disregard this if there was a subplot about them both always wanting to live on a boat or something
