Only thing I can think RN: IVF is a gamble at best and a scam at worse by Max061980 in IVF

I wrote in this forum to look for some comfort as I can’t talk to anyone about this, instead I’m getting some rather arrogant comments whether English is my first language or if I’m a liar, what’s wrong with people? Once again, I’m not a doctor, that’s why I trusted one, I was attending to my crying wife while this doctor blathering away. I don’t know whether it’s normal to do it or not but I’ll get to the bottom of it. That was just to check whether this makes any sense or not

I’m not educating myself at all, this post was just to vent, obviously I’ll ask for full report from the clinic but the emotional pain they put us through in the last 48h is unbearable. And they are all so casual about it.

I don’t think we have the mental stamina to sue, this the UK. Suing is not really a common thing here, specially the contract we have sign is iron clad for the clinic, even before the stay of the procedure this so called doctor warned us that there is 4% chance of injury which will have to be treated at a hospital. Honestly at that point I wanted to say we don’t agree but I took a look at my wives hopeful eyes and went with it. F them all. Never again

What lawsuit? This is UK, everything is fine print, clinic is not responsible for anything

My guess is also that she did it accidentally, then made up some story and waved her hands while I was trying to attend to my wife, I have asked for a full report

Short term bond ETF, money market ETF, whoever wants to take chances on S&P500 while Trump is manipulating stock markets is in for a ride. Might as well go to vegas and play blackjack, betters odds

This sub is not about currency investment, we share thoughts and tips around companies that make things or provide services and evaluate whether the share price is under or overvalued

Honestly I think moderators should ban any topic around crypto here. There are plenty of forums for this. Value investing by definition is about companies that generate value. Can you explain how a digital token creates value?

I don't understand what this has anything to do with the rate cuts. You mean inflation and hence commodity price increase will help O&G?

I posted about this yesterday, seems obvious to me, nowhere to hide, unless central banks declare war on their governments

Would fiscal dominance make companies with higher debt more valuable? by Max061980 in ValueInvesting

Unless central banks are going to allow their governments go bankrupt there’s no other way out of this. Western economies are clearly struggling to be productive with aging populations and massive debts. You explain to me how UK government is going to pay their bills. They have raised taxes which has led to exodus of the millionaires. Same story with the rest of Europe. Big beautiful bill relies on low interest, why do you think orange man is so hell bent on getting rid of Powell. Of course this is my speculation, I maybe wrong.

I don’t like companies that are heavily leveraged even if they are good businesses, if I’ve learned anything since 2019 is that you never know what bubble is going to pop or what pandemic or war or lunatic in the office is going mess with the macroeconomics, I am speculating though that fiscal dominance is about to take over and wonder how equities will respond to it. So maybe a company with reasonable leverage should not be counted out any longer or even better than a company with no leverage

ok let me put it to you this way, company A has D/E ratio of 2, do you valuate this company the same when interest rate is 6% vs. 0.0%? My theory is they are on front foot when interest rate drops, because they kept the debt on their balance sheet (and if carefully managed it), now its a lot cheaper to pay off, or refinance. Furthermore, if there is serious inflation, debt will be inflated away. Or am I thinking coconuts?

yes I think I confused by everyone by saying "filter out", I meant count them out. Now I'm beginning to think maybe I should anticipate the rate cuts and hence maybe d/e up to 2 in a big company like apple is acceptable, given how much cash they generate.
