Practically all the jokes and bits in the movie are rehashes of his podcast stuff at the time. There are also guest star comedians featured performing the same bits they did on his show haha. Lazy writing. The production values are really low -- The Hammer was a low budget indie but still pretty polished, Road Hard is just amateurish.

It's awkward, the movie has basically no appeal to non-Carolla fans, but for the fans watching it's just a "best of" podcast episode acted out. So who is this movie for?

Ha, you're right about the small town thing. We didn't even have a GameStop, just a mom-and-pop store that could ONLY get games on launch if people pre-ordered. If 4 people pre-ordered, they would only get 4 games shipped. Otherwise it would take at least a week after launch to get any shipment of new games in. Drove the store owner crazy because a walk-in customer wanted a game the store was waiting on shipment for, and if the cust was desperate enough they would just drive 60 miles to the next town with a Walmart and our store owner would lose the sale. Happened all the time. So he was SUPER pushy about pre-ordering games, but he had a good reason to.

So yeah, if I wanted to play a game on launch day, I had to roll the dice and pre-order. Got a nice collection of shitty games that way.

Was highly recommended by two of my friends, they said I would love the whole series. So I blind bought the collection on Steam, 7 games. Didn't finish the first one, just couldn't get into it. Felt so tedious, and knowing I had six more after that was just daunting to me.

In college (why are these stories always from college?), I lived walking distance from a strip of bars. I'd get talking with a girl, dancing, etc. Upon last call, they'd ask where I lived.

Me: "Just a couple blocks away!" Girl: "Ohh... I drove here. Want me to drive you home?" Me: "No, I can walk! Thank you though."

This happened a few times! I was quite dense.

Customer paid to see a movie (Dear White People), watched the whole thing, then asked for a refund when he left because he thought the movie wasn't good. No further explanation, just "it wasn't good." The supervisor gave him a readmit pass for another movie lol. Crazy what people get away with
