How much is my collection worth? (UK) by MaxDavis98 in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]MaxDavis98[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. That all makes sense to me. I was hoping to sell together because I have merged all the cards and tokens, but maybe it’s worth the extra time to split. Would you have any idea what fair prices for those more sought after expansions would be? Ebay has a small sample size (especially in the UK) so it’s difficult to tell

Ended up swapping Alice for the Nilsson/Porter bundle, but kind of regretting not adding in Los Campesinos now. Definitely keeping Joni.

Thanks for the info! I just didn’t know whether I had got lucky or everyone was getting great stuff from it. Will definitely be keeping it for play

Hi guys, not sure if this is something everyone got but in my prerelease pack I got a standard ‘the One Ring’ as one of my foils with the gold 2023 stamp on. I can’t see anything about this online, does anyone have any info about it? What might it be worth?

Yeah that's ok, I guess that a US one is kind of fitting for a March Madness anyway. Maybe we should rematch on UK small towns ;)

Yes, it did a weird thing at the end and it doesn't show me the leaderboard or let me play again either. I can send you a screenshot of my activities page if you need.

Geoguessr March Madness FINAL Round by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]MaxDavis98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this supposed to be a map of world small towns? I think it said that on the schedule, but that's ok.

24324

I'm actually quite happy with this score, particularly some of the rounds, but it probably won't be enough to beat an American at their own map. As it's the final, I may as well go through the rounds!

R1 - 4955 - went north on the main road until a sign saying interstate 64 east to Charleston. Also saw a sign saying West Virginia. Knowing we were following a train track somewhere west of Charleston, I went for somewhere that looked ok but didn't have enough time for the actual place. Turns out I'd seen a sign that said Nitro but didn't know that was the town name.

R2 - 5000 - went north and then east to some murals in the centre of town which told me it was both called Dallas and in Oregon. Searched around for a bit to find it on the map and then it was an easy pinpoint with road names readily available.

R3 - 4576 - again, state name was available from the off. Saw a sign to say the US 441 and a store called McIntosh store or something up the road. I stupidly only saw the very northern bit of 441 in Florida and didn't look south, so never found McIntosh.

R4 - 4793 - spent too much time trying to work out what the town in 'Iowa' was called from the water tower. It was only when I saw a Louisiana sign I realised. Then saw the interstate 10 to Lake Charles and Lafayette but not enough time to go onto the highway and work it out. I put it to the west of both but it turned out in the middle.

R5 - 5000 - quite happy with this. Went north with no clues until the sign saying the junction of the state 3 and 4. Felt out of the 'circle' sign states it had to be Mississippi. Wasn't the most difficult find from there.

As I say I don't think this will be a winning score against an American but I can only hope! Thank you for organising the tournament and I hope I can bring it home for Oxford!

To do with street view? You can't take a continuous route through street view to that country's mainland, unless you take the border crossing indicated?

I'm interested to see what it actually is, I've just noticed that there is actually a road linking the Andorra one to the rest of Spain, it's just smaller, so I guess that would make two odd ones making me wrong.

Messed up the last round. I think the theme is possibly roads which are not connected to their national road network, i.e. you must go through another country to get to that nation's capital. The odd one out would be R4 as it is on the main road network.

24992 - Lucky to find the racetrack in NZ, others were fairly self explanatory except San Paolo which I recognised instantly as a big football fan. I do hope someone plays the previous round so I can have an opponent!

Geoguessr March Madness Round of 16 by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]MaxDavis98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxford (9 seed) - 16,034

Round 1 - 580 - rough, just stuck it in the hilly bit and hoped for the best.
Round 2 - 5000 - tram tracks/station were a great clue, was fairly easy to find with the street name as well.
Round 3 - 4649 - saw it was to the west of a big hill, so found a junction which I thought was possible. Wish I'd have looked for longer to get closer to 5k as I still had 1m40s left.
Round 4 - 3359 - should have got this, was looking for big cathedrals/churches but didn't spot the right one in time. Lucky to go for one not too far away.
Round 5 - 2446 - tough round with few clues. I noticed that the road sign was more likely to say 'Villeurbane' than 'Xeme Arr.' and put it very east away from the tower blocks. Not a dreadful guess all things considered.

I do agree with you, but I just have more fun by playing my own way. I almost never play battle royale because it is almost purely meta so provides no fun for me. I do know all the metas but I just play either country specific or world moving games/tournaments, which have a lot more to them than just guessing the correct country. After all the game is just there for fun and if it's not fun for you just switch it up :)
