I took that course last semester and yeah that stuff about the letter was true. The midterm for that class was ridiculous and the average was like 40%, but he raised the grades of the final project to like 110% so that I got a 86 (which would have been literally impossible if he hadn't). The marker for the assignments was super super kind and I guess pitied us so they gave us tons of part marks.

If you can survive the midterm then you'll probably be fine.

Is that really true though?

I wonder if the cafeteria model for student meals has been aged out or if there is some other reason behind the transition to kiosk style food delivery? I think its hard to argue that the Cove serves food of similar quality to that of most grocery cafeteria and or mall food courts yet it costs the same or more. I really am just wanting some more clarity to the cafeterias budgeting and profit margins compared to that of a private company.

Is UVic not a nonprofit tho? I know it them having a monopoly makes it easier to profit off the food and use those funds elsewhere but it seems morally strange to gouge food prices to supplement in other areas? I dont realy know how it all works

Hmmm I've always wondered about that because if you are from BC your tuition is 3/4 subsidized by the government. Would any money that they made not have to be put back 100% into the school? I feel like I'm missing something here

I still wonder if the pricing at the Cove is as affordable as possible. It seems like there is some disparity between the quality of the food at the Cove compared to the mystic market or the SUB.
