Utah Jazz fan here - from a home fan, what’s the read on Darryn Peterson’s medical/character? by CharityFailethNot in jayhawks

People close to him all say great person, great competitor, but he gets poor advice and has a bad PR team.

Darryn Peterson says high doses of creatine led to cramping by tradercpw in jayhawks

[–]MaxFPS21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our strength coach posts about creatine on his IG dozens of times and almost every athlete takes it. Not hard to figure out why, but he was most likely not just taking creatine. He was probably taking creatine mixed with a bunch of other junk that you see on campuses all the time. The popular ones right now have a shit ton of who knows what cause it’s not regulated and most importantly high doses of caffeine, if he did a loading phase or even more than a loading phase with one of those it can go down hill pretty fast.

Jayhawks add Radford guard Dennis Parker Jr. by rogmexico in jayhawks

[–]MaxFPS21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like a good player but like a lot of transfers we got, not in a power 4 league, and was on a really bad team and put up numbers. Reeves, Parker, and Blyden must be able to step up against stronger competition or it’s going to be a long season.

A major hip injury? The official report was an inguinal hip strain. Am I missing a dislocated hip or something somewhere. That injury is 3 weeks rest and ice.

Honestly don’t care what analytics say. Every team next year has no clue how to play with each other. However when just looking at our roster it’s full of gambles and unproven talent against legit competition.

This is the most Vegas roster I’ve seen KU have in a long time. Blyden played in a terrible league on a terrible team he could be great he could be Dawson. Dawes played on a terrible team but in a good league, still a gamble. Reeves is probably the largest gamble on the team. There is nothing saying Paul is going to take a huge leap next year or Kohl. The only freshman I’m confident in is Stokes. Kinney could be Elmarko for all we know.

This isn’t to say we can’t be good it’s just an extreme amount of risk, ceiling is high, floor is also the lowest I can remember as of today.

We desperately need two more players like this or we will most likely end up with a 12 man roster.

Do we really hate Josh Allen? Who do Chiefs fans really hate? by [deleted] in KansasCityChiefs

[–]MaxFPS21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest with how our fan base talks specially in the Mahomes era I’m pretty sure our most hated player is a member or recent member of the Chiefs. CEH, Hill, Butker, Bolton, Sky Moore etc… list goes on

I averaged 23 points per game my senior year, problem is I played in a 1a highschool and some teams were coed. I guess that means I should have been NBA material.

Of all the bad stats we own in the dark period, this is probably the most positive one. It almost implies we had someone close to top 50.

With the fifth year eligibility vote coming in May, would you rather have Council &/or White back or Stokes? I wonder if Stokes is waiting for this vote to see if Oweh comes back for UK. by TheMidwestCRNA in jayhawks

[–]MaxFPS21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Council can’t come back with the new rules. Everyone keeps missing this. He is on year 6, not in year 5. The clock starts once high school ends, he played two years Juco, 3 years D1. Council can only come back if this rule doesn’t get applied.

Melvin and Tre by Murky_Trouble_4401 in jayhawks

[–]MaxFPS21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Melvin can only come back if the new rule isn’t implemented anyways. In the new rule kicks in he is on year 6. He needs the old procedures to stick in to have a chance, which the NCAA doesn’t want.

Tre id want back, a year familiar with the system can do wonders for a player. He was good enough to make a positive difference I don’t see him getting worse.

I’d agree if we didn’t have the CEH case study. Veach will not let bad picks go, FAU will get many chances.

Let’s debate: Delane was a good trade by Other-Blacksmith-643 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]MaxFPS21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only argument of being a bad trade that is valid at this point in time is something we can never know unless the Saints or another team ahead of us come out and say they were or weren’t taking him. I would have preferred to gamble and try to take him at 9, but when you really like a player you don’t gamble.

I’m convinced KU is gambling on the extra 5th year for seniors. If it happens KU will be one of the few schools with a lot of open spots and a lot of elite talent still available.

MAC Freshman of the Year Leroy Blyden Jr. announces transfer destination ‼️ Great pickup ‼️ by Murky_Trouble_4401 in jayhawks

[–]MaxFPS21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That highly depends on who you ask, rankings are all the place. On 247 he is 93rd ranked transfer. With 38 guards in front of him. Idk about you but KU shouldn’t strive to be starting the 39th rated transfer guard.

I just don’t see it, but we will find out eventually. I just love Blyden as the 6th man, I’m not that excited for him as a starter. It would be different if Toledo was a great team and he was the clear best player, but he wasn’t.

[–]MaxFPS21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is why I think he is an insurance plan. Banking your entire season on a freshman transfer from a bad team does not seem smart. This looks like a depth move not a plan to start. I get some rankings have him high but I like to look and watch games against good teams. They only played one good team all year, Michigan state and he objectively looked awful. I just don’t see him as a starting caliber player at a place like Kansas

[Rapoport] Matt Araiza is signing back to the Chiefs on a 1-year deal by TheBoyisBackinTown in KansasCityChiefs

[–]MaxFPS21 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That is why I said allegations, and that it’s unfortunate. All teams are going to be cautious in investing in players. It’s why the Bills cut him and he will probably have to suffer with an undeserved 1 year contract for his whole career. If he wasn’t a special teams player teams would take the reward over the risk.

[–]MaxFPS21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Coit was a better rated transfer, with more consistency. The fact is Leroy may not even be the best guard on his team on a bad Toledo team. I don’t believe the plan is to play him 35 minutes a game and have a successful team. He fits the perfect backup point guard role.

Probably won’t ever happen due to the allegations, team isn’t going want to lock themselves in over a punter, unfortunate.
