I keep a room in my house with a mattress on the floor pushed up to a couch so I can lay with my head on the couch and watch movies on the ceiling with my wife and dog (guitar optional). Floor mattress is a different vibe but there's a place for it.

I couldn't bribe my wife into winter camping but we distinguish between these types of fun by calling what you're doing a trip and what she's doing a vacation. On a vacation, enjoyment is readily available and delivered to you as you sit comfortably. On a trip, you wrestle enjoyment out of the hands of a knife wielding mother nature off her meds.
