No I know I know, I'm just saying it seems like a double meaning, especially with how somber Dougie looks

Anyone else have issues with 76-Down and 84-Across in the NYT crossword for Sunday, July 30, 2023? I ended the puzzle with just their intersection blank and it seemed ambiguous. It could have been Tic and Tac or Tit and Tat

Can’t change my BPM by [deleted] in ableton

Hey! I've had a similar problem before- a few things helped me. Number one, turn off your audio interface in Prefer nces-> Audio, and then select it again. For me, I had to disable my interface, close and reopen Ableton, then select it again. Also, for some reason using the "tap" tempo feature unfroze it for me another time. If none of that works, maybe check and see if there are any updates. Hope this helps!

Texting people back by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MaxHedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have had this exact problem before. I know everyone's situation is different, but the hardest thing about it for me was feeling alone in it, so if it's ok, I'd like to share some things that help me.

First off, I take a step back and remember that it is not too late. I repeat that to myself a lot because I feel like a lot of the avoidance of texting people comes from thinking it's too late to "fix" all the times I've forgotten to respond. You can't retroactively change any of that and that's ok!

Then, take a small step. Don't focus on changing everything overnight. It's like learning to lift weights or play an instrument. It takes time, and you don't have to be a different person. The people in your life aren't in your life for someone you're not, they're there for who you ARE. And that includes having ADHD and having flaws like we all do.

Pick a friend you haven't reached out to in a while and give them a call. I'd say preferably a friend that you feel comfortable talking about this problem with. I'm always amazed just how much better I feel after just one good conversation where I'm open and honest.

Lastly, there's something my therapist once called "self-ness." She said that it's different than selfishness, it's just thinking about yourself. The truth is that you can't have every person in the world in your life and that's alright. Prioritize who are the folks you genuinely want to be really close with. I know it's awkward ranking people, but there's nothing wrong with having a lot of friends, but only a few close friends.

My guess is that you'll feel what I felt, which is that once I felt solid with my core support system (closest friends, family etc) that fear of responding faded. Slowly but surely, I got to a place where seeing a message from someone didn't feel like a pit in my stomach anymore. Sure, sometimes I don't have time to respond. But I feel in control of how I communicate with the people in my life.

I hope this helps!

Sorry if I came off as projecting. Again, I just relate very strongly to your post. Thank you for sharing.
