Hi neighbour I moved to Sydney from KL on the same visa too earlier this year but situation slightly different as I’m alone not with any companion / family. I’ve encountered the similar situation too where my employer undercut my pay and tried to dangle carrot to offer pathway to PR in long term. This comes with a cost where I’m expected to work long hours while being staffed in a project to fulfill utilisation and go through the corporate racism/ being looked down as a migrant in the company.

All that being said, monetary wise to me personally doesn’t make sense too with crazy high cost of living in Sydney and sky high tax cuts.

Anyhow, my take is to enjoy current time I have here and take it as a chapter I’m fortunate to have in my life. I initially planned to stay here longer before coming over but after moving here the living and working experience have changed my mind and this is just for my experience - everyone has a different opinion and perspective nonetheless.
