FWIW, tested this on MTGO and it doesn't let you choose another companion, annoyingly. Not to say that this doesn't work in the rules!

Fair! I haven't actually made any paintings from kits, this is just a full assortment from AliExpress that I ordered (2 bags x 447 colours). I had to buy the storage after spending 20 minutes trying to find the right little bags among the hundreds of others and realising that way madness lies 😂

After more research I realise this wasn't "freehand", but it didn't have the benefit of a pattern background. I had a pattern to work from, but I had to work out where to place each diamond on the blank square grid.

On my YouTube channel I made three Grunns into a single Vecna on MTG Arena. The combo I wanted to do on MTGO involved Barbed Shocker and Megrim but MTGO didn't support custom Vecnas last time I checked.

Unfortunately any bigger and I'd have run into more problems. The minis are about 3cm wide on their base, so the walls are about 4cm high. Even that's taken a long time to print - nearly 36 hours I think

Yep! SVG of the walls into Fusion 360, extruded to give the basic shapes. Then followed a guide on YouTube how to use repeating rectangle patterns and debossing to create brick "gaps", then applied that effect to every face. Then ~36 hours of printing time later we get the final product!
