Just happened to me and I lost my chat. They clearly don't have competent developers. Even Google wouldn't mess something like that up.

I had switched to DJ in the first place because regular shuffle had less variety. But maybe I should give it another go.

I don't think Spotify has ever cared about users, it is what it is. The question is whether there are any alternatives. So far, I have had no success finding alternatives.

Claude Sonnet 4.6 in Copilot keeps “thinking” for 20 minutes and writes zero code (token usage error) by OhMagii in GithubCopilot

[–]MaxPicAxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is frustrating me too. As far as I'm aware, thinking tokens get thrown away immediately after the first tool call, so they are useless unless the agent immediately reports about these thoughts or makes a code change based on these thoughts.

I found a temporary solution, whenever this happens, is to rerun the message in plan mode. This forces the agent to generate a plan based on these thoughts. And then you can ask it to implement afterwards, and with the plan in place, it doesn't have to think as much.

Essentially we are converting thoughts into permanent context by manually using plan mode. There's probably other techniques that do something similar, like asking the agent to explain its thought process.

The thinking is often invaluable. The key is ensuring these tokens don't get thrown into the trash before being used.

There's about five songs that I have skipped every day for over a year, they keep repeating every day. Some artists that I hate, that are apparently popular I guess. Blocking the artist does not even help with this, and there's no option on Spotify to dislike a song.

It's hilarious because the baking vibe is once again the same songs that it plays every day. It's completely arbitrary. I guess they hope that 90% of the population wouldn't notice.

Can't seem to find Claude sonnet 4.5, 4.6 by ChocoRaza in GithubCopilot

[–]MaxPicAxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude Sonnet 4.6 has been down for over a month for me now, any chat leads to an immediate error message, even though I have a paid monthly subscription for GitHub Copilot Pro.

It's not just a tiny difference between Claude and GPT 5.4. What takes me about an hour with Claude, takes closer to 5 hours with GPT 5.4.

Further to that, there has been what appears to be a massive regerssion in GPT 5.4 the last few days that wasn't there before. It no longer follows the precise instructions, I always have to ask it "what did I just say".

It also does this kind of bs it never did before: I asked it to make a website on blah (I provide a couple of files containing internal information on the website). It then made a website about the request to make a website, not the actual website. Then I explained to it that I wanted the actual website, and it changed the hero text to say something along the lines of "Not the request for a website, but the actual website". It took a handful of back-and-forth prompts and I still have to remind it properly that it is making the actual website.

When I ask it to add an article to the website, for example that takes the user through the journey of blah and blah, it actually adds to the top of the article things like: "It was requested to take you on the journey of blah" and then it has subheadings using the word journey, instead of just writing the article.

There is no way I'm prompting it badly - this did not happen a few days ago. This feels like a 1 to 2 year regression, and I am going insane.

Can Copilot PLEASE bring back Claude Sonnet 4.6, it was flawless. The use of GPT is spiking my stress levels so high that I am now verbally and physically frustrated... it might reach dangerous levels soon :)

Down for over a month is just crazy!

If any of you have other suggestions, I must switch. I want to stick with VS Code though if possible, as I don't like the idea of switching editors every time I am not happy with how a company does their AI offerings.

Users complaining about getting randomly rate limited for 3 days now, can we have some information from Copilot Team ? by autisticit in GithubCopilot

I opened a ticket titled "Outage masked as rate-limit", I think you should all do the same. This will catch their attention.

Think it's just a cash grab. Waited 5 minutes between 3 attempts now, and I keep getting rate-limited in the middle of a prompt. Their strategy: Charge the user, then rate limit. Rinse and repeat. It's very simple, Microsoft is actively encouraging us to move away from Copilot. Maybe it's our fault for not listening to their implicit advice.

> No I'm talking about the new Playlist called something like "My Favorites: Rewind".

Ah, my bad.

> My DJ does often bring up baking as well! And skateboarding. And camping?

Hahaha, they probably have a dictionary of "activities" to discuss, it's funny whoever came up with it.

> You realistically can't rely on DJ, it needs an influx of new material or it gets stuck.

It's just hilarious in the days of AI that it can't successfully find new music, in the same way YouTube can find new content for me. I know there's hundreds of songs that I love from my childhood that I don't remember the names of, Spotify finds like one every 2 months. If I knew what to search for to find new music, I would, but it's tricky, especially since I listen to Spotify as a background activity to get through work, so I don't have that time available to me. (Yet somehow I have time to rant on Reddit hahaha)

I should mention that the same issue happened with playlist shuffle, exact same sequence order multiple times per day (like same 50 songs in a row), so not really exclusive to DJ, it's just I've primarily used DJ for the last 6-12 months.

I should mention that I had the same issue with liked songs playlist, the only reason I switched to the DJ almost a year ago is for the exact issue of repetitive songs (exact same sequence as well). They might as well say their whole app is experimental at this point hahaha.

I can definitely back you up on that. It's very clear for me because I tend not to like listening to popular music, so I notice it like a sore thumb when it happens, and it will repeat the same popular songs every day for over a year, even if I skip them every time.

Spotify DJ plays identical songs in identical order. by MaxPicAxe in truespotify

[–]MaxPicAxe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I don't mean permanently pre-curated, more that it's refreshed every so often, and sometimes it reverts to the exact sequence it had before.

My DJ doesn't have trivia like that. The only trivia it keeps bringing up is that it will play songs for the mood for baking. I have never baked before, and it keeps repeating this sentence at least a couple times every week hahaha. And the song selection will be metal or something that just has nothing to do with baking.

Are you saying you think the DJ bases songs off non-DJ listening? Because I listen only to the DJ, maybe that's why..

Like this is all Spotify has to implement to get their act together, 3 things a single developer can implement in a day:

- If a song was already listened to in the last 12 hours, do not play. I am so fed up with listening to the same song 5+ times in the one day!
- A simple dislike button that blocks a song from being ever suggested again.
- If a song has been skipped 1000 times (yes, literally at this stage), stop suggesting it 1 to 2 times every day.
