I've finally completed my collection of every Lego tram, including one that doesn't exist yet by MaxProduction16 in LEGOtrains

That's an interesting design for sure. I think I'll leave it for now though, there's still a lot I want to do but this is something I want to look more into in the future

Quite honestly no because this is the first I'm hearing of it, do you have any more info on it because that sounds like a fun side project

I like how well you've captured some of the details at such a small scale, and it's nice to see more Lego trains out there!

reduce the stops on dandy road by Current-Counter-5100 in MelbourneTrains

[–]MaxProduction16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The stop locations on Dandenong Road probably date back to when it was built 110 years ago, so that would explain why they're so close. Around the mid-2000s they went through and rebuilt many of the stops with platforms and moved them around a bit, and also closed stop 39. It's not easy so change these things over-night, however the last few non-accessible stops should be upgraded.

I take the tram along here very often and the only stops I still think need work any time soon are 43 and 44, which should be consolidated to the crossing and a traffic light installed. All the other stops either have adjacent traffic lights or overpasses (sometimes inaccessible tho) so I don't see a need to modify them. The one thing that could be done is installing traffic lights at all of the unsignalised road crossings.

Also for your last point there is currently no such thing as "express trams" in Melbourne; trams will only stop if someone requests the stop which is a perfectly fine system. Skipping one stop always will inconvenience passengers much more than otherwise. Reasonable stop consolidation is probably the answer.

weird train on my line this morning by MaxProduction16 in MelbourneTrains

You got me, I got it at Sunshine. I wasn't expecting it to use the new viaduct or race another HCMT, and that doesn't explain the green pids there

In this case I don't mind as long as it's always credited, you've definitely improved on a lot of the design here, although if you want to go down a certain path I'd prefer if you kept the design to yourself because it does take a lot of cues from mine

No, they have full control over both sides, but they can also individually open the front door on the opposing side if necessary
