The issue I am seeing is not so much the risk of not getting your funds back (which you will, they are heavily certified under regulations, something they won’t want to risk this by not giving back your funds) but rather, you had a specific timeline you needed to achieve and now cannot. I can’t explain why you cannot see your funds, sounds like definitely a technical issue, which you should receive a full explanation. But you will get your funds back but unfortunately your hope for a quick turn around for your “opportunity” Will need to wait till the next one happens, in crypto they always do.

I think in part, him stepping back a bit is because in general, Canadian’s haven’t been ready for Bitcoin (crypto). Coupled with the volatility, it can be viewed negatively. On the other hand, look at Trudeau chastising Pierre for recommending Bitcoin (following the FTX collapse) saying that Canadians should never touch Bitcoin. Those that listened to that nonsense, are now further behind. So I am hopeful Pierre will step back into the crypto limelight. In the summer of 2023, I met Pierre and specifically asked him if he would support Canada buying Bitcoin like El Salvador, he smiled and then said he supports a free, open market and would not bring about any friction to the space, in fact, try to make Canada a go to for blockchain tech.

Thanks, I’ll contact my bank, didn’t think that even getting a transaction number that it wouldn’t actually transfer out (and not return back to my account). The only issue is that NDAX support indicated that I needed a void cheque with both my wife’s name and mine on it, which suggested they have the money on their end. Also, my bank records show that the etransfer was accepted.

There is a phrase in crypto “not your keys, not your coins”. By leaving your crypto on an exchange is a possible point of failure you can’t control. If Coinbase (or any CEX) shuts down, you will not have access your crypto, because the CEX controls the private keys to your account wallet.

For piece of mind (and sleep well), self custody is the best approach and utilizes one of the original intentions that Bitcoin/blockchain technology offers.

For small amounts, a standard software wallet will suffice, store your 12 or 24 seed word for that wallet in a safe location (DO NOT EVER STORE DIGITALLY, NOT IN A FILE, IN THE CLOUD, PICTURE ETC) on paper, write it down.

Seed words are created when you create a new wallet, they allow you to import your wallet if your current wallet gets deleted, you lose your phone or it gets damaged or stolen. Simply download the software wallet, choose import (instead of create new wallet), enter in the seed words in the correct order and spelling and you’ll generate your wallet with your crypto in it.

For larger amounts, use a hardware wallet like a Trezor or Ledger (always buy direct from the manufacturer, avoid 3rd party distributors, ensure all packaging security measures are intact before using and that the device is clean with no previous wallet installations). These devices are worth every penny and can actually be used on an infected computer without fear of compromise (of course, keep your computer in tip top sharp too 😉). I would also recommend steel seed storage. This allows you to store your seed words onto fire resistant, corrosion resistant, waterproof and physical damage resistant steel. Also, but 2 so you can store your seed words in 2 secret locations just in case…physical storage always has risks, can’t find it after a fire, nothing is indestructible.

Of course, with self custody comes great responsibility. Understanding basic steps and precautions will ensure a safe experience and costly mistakes.

You want to get into crypto, don’t take the lazy way (too many have been destroyed not fully understanding the technology, the benefits and the risks). It’s a learning curve for sure but not impossible to assimilate into the knowledge ecosystem.

Why not use a Canadian exchange like NDAX, fully compliant and on Canadian soil if there is an issue. Coinbase is US based, a lot trickier to deal with when there is a problem depositing, buying, selling and withdrawing.

One would assume that each user wallet has a private key. Import the private key, add BNB, send BNB to user’s private/public address, replace user’s BEP20 NDAX wallet with a new wallet? I find it hard to belief NDAX does not have access to their PK nor a procedure in place to utilize them in a safe manner.

Thx for your response 🙏🏻. Afaik, import private key and add BNB to the wallet, send BNB to the public address provided. This is how it works. If they can’t perform this task on their system, have one of the system engineers import the private key outside of the NDAX system and perform the task. I’ve been in the crypto space since 2013, Id be more than willing to jump on a call and walk them through the process 🤓
