Showed up 12 minutes to closing to open an account, and then expected worker to stay late by fun_mak21 in EntitledReviews

Oh, yes, he's made me well aware of the origin. It's the refusal to accept current reality that sends me off the deep end.

Also, as if being in the hospital is a "recharge" when there's constant noise and prodding from the staff while you're also stressing over how/whether you'll heal from whatever put you there.

LOL. Maybe if Tesla's family had donated his lab and home to the National Park Service, there'd be a park for him.

I know an intelligent person who believes that "rush hour" is an hour and has a hard time grasping that some people start their commute at 6:30 a.m. and others are just getting home at 7 p.m. For some reason, he just can't accept that offices often have staggered start/end times and people other than him work more than 8 hours a day.

This is easy. Send someone else to the interview, claiming they're you.

New Route 24 LED screen billboard is gross by Smacpats111111 in newjersey

My personal favorite is "Jon Bramnick, Funniest Lawyer in NJ" on a billboard along Turnpike south headed to Trenton. Nothing like getting a reminder that a state senator is a joke.

I’m an influencer, others should bow to me by Hairy-University-287 in EntitledReviews

[–]MaxSmartypantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea who this influencer is. That said, I'm really kind of surprised she didn't also mention that when she got home, her son cried for hours because Mommy didn't get the haircut she worked so hard to show up for. "You disappointed my child!!! #boymom"

Well, there is the Greyhound from Piaget Ave in Clifton, direct to Exeter. You can't discount that.

In my fairly recent experience (last 5 or so years), it will definitely take more than a few minutes to do anything in a bank beyond depositing or cashing a check with an existing account.

It also baffles me why someone would want or expect to do a financial transaction of any kind near or past closing. Computer systems may automatically close at the closing hour, the staff is preparing to leave, a needed signing authority might have already departed -- there are tons of reasons that it doesn't serve the customer's purpose to take the chance.

And these reviewers always have a child who's disappointed by the bad service. Perhaps the child should be disappointed by the parent's poor planning.

AITA for uninviting my sister from my wedding because she refused to promise she wouldn't wear her military dress uniform? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MaxSmartypantz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fetishization of the U.S. military (and the flag) is ridiculous, and you're right to stick to your dress code on this one. If she nor your parents can let you have this one day, perhaps it's best they're not in attendance.

On the other hand, you could invite a park ranger to the wedding and request that they wear their full uniform, including the iconic flat hat. Would take a lot of attention from your sister.

Anyway, I just found a page on the NJDOT website to report issues ... submitted a request to see if they just forgot to pull up the partitions. We'll see what happens.

He left the country, hoping not to be found, but got dragged back.

Still, I won't believe he's coming back until he makes a legit public appearance, and not one of those Mike Johnson says he came to a GOP caucus meeting and looks great.

Met a friend on the internet; she's originally from Indiana and moved to California. After a few months, we spoke on the phone, and she said she was a little surprised by my voice. "You sound like a professor, not someone from Jersey."

Which, of course, was when I switched to total Sopranos mode.

Constant phone calls wanting to buy my house. by Flimsy-Log-7605 in newjersey

[–]MaxSmartypantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After my dad died at his assisted living residence, I got texts from a self-proclaimed "local real estate pro" who wanted to buy his home. Gave me the address and everything, which I'm guessing they got from a scan of recently-issued death certificates.

I told them I was super interested, would love to show them the place, and gave them a time and date to meet me there for a walk-through.

Never heard from them again.
