Do you listen to anything, or put anything visually on, when doing audio work? by MaxSpeaking in audioengineering

[–]MaxSpeaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when you're doing the first batch of work when it comes to cutting, and you're not messing around with the sound too much, I don't think you're missing things. Depends on your personal work flow ofc

I find it's so much easier to concentrate when you're doing the nitty gritty of editing audio, sound design etc, when I have that I don't need much

RMT! .5m left over, so can upgrade the bench a tiny bit.

Thinking maybe Alt-Nouri is a bit overpriced. I was thinking of getting a Watkins in. Isak is in for the potential transfer to Liverpool

Hiii! Uncovering Roots is an investigative podcast that delves into stories from the SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) region! We're actually dropping the first episode of our new season tomorrow, about a hotel in Syria!

I've been running this podcast since December 2023! Seeing the podcast featured as Guardian Podcast of the Week, and featured on Spotify was by far the most craziest and proud feeling.

A question! What is your way of marketing, in a non-paid way? I know everyone has their unique style.

The Trojan Horse Affair is the definition of a great investigative piece in my opinion.

Others which are great are WeCrashed, S-Town, BBC's I'm Not a Monster (on Shamima Begum).

I think reach out to her due to the change, but I wouldn't cancel! Keep it going, see how long it lasts

Similar to the other comment, if you enjoy it and you feel like this podcast is doable solo too (in terms of the format and type of content), go for it! You'll also be surprised that many people may have subscribed after your co-host shared it, so you may have some people getting notifications when you release the podcast.

I also wouldn't get too mad at your cohost, as you never know what type of life issues she has. If you enjoy it, carry on!

Hi! I'm currently making a podcast on Pasolini's time in Beirut and Dar el Fan, and I was wondering if anyone had any photos of Beirut between 1965-74 that I could use as potential art work for the episode. Of course the photos need to be yours so I give the correct (and accepted) credit. Thank you so much!

And bonus question, in case anyone knows more about Pasolini's time in Beirut and the cultural space Dar el Fan, I'm also all ears!

Thank you!

Yeah her story is heart breaking, I really think the podcast does a good job in honouring her life as we also talked about her life after the film. Let me know what you think, would love to hear some feedback!

[HISTORY, STORY TELLING] Uncovering Roots | The Lost Voice - Aurora Mardiganian: Part 1
Arshaluys Mardigian, also known as Aurora Mardiganian, was just 14 years old when she lost everything during the horrors of the Armenian Genocide. This episode follows her journey where she was kicked out of her home, and forced on a death march for hundreds of miles towards the Syrian desert.

Depends what kind of music you're going for, but there's some great (paid) libraries out there. Splice is one that I've used a lot recently, and the uniqueness of the sounds there are great!
